Restaurant put "Fat Girls" on these ladies check

None of your examples are acceptable in my opinion. Especially the short one because a lot of dudes are insecure about being short.
ok i can accept that but you and i know in general on a grand scale of things... nothing is ever said about said examples... but when weight is involved all of a sudden the bar is clearly being crossed.

lol im seriously trippin on you man... cause i stated the pretty much exact same thing pages ago...... all i was saying is it is so ridiculous this social norm..terms many ppl just blindly follow despite how foolish they no that it is. And that we are in such a sad state in society that ppl can discriminate/mistreat ppl etc... make negative distinguishes on ppl based on prejudice steretypes etc..and it in most part be accepted... regardless due to the fact that the distinctions arent fact based... and are based on racist/religious/sexist opinions... and are used to hurt/violate ppl...

But then we are a society as a whole that get in a uproar.... because a person who hasnt been mistreated/violated etc... but was distinguished/singled out based on a factual truth... get upset hurt and feel as if they have been violated/discriminated against... all because of a truth they dont want to accept/change.... or dont like about themselves.

Word. Then we're good. :lol

My bad, fam.

its not the fact that these terms are offensive. Its the fact that it doesnt seem professional to write "fat chicks" "black couple" etc on a receipt

truth...

but what i am saying is ill try to use another example... NYC... it is known stigma for cab drivers not stopping picking up black ppl... right?

This instance... would be like ppl making a big deal or a white women... being offended that while she was treated nice... picked up on time.. recieved fair service etc... drops her off... yet she feels offended because she over hears the cabbie dispatch to the base "i just dropped off this fat lady off on such and such"

How is that offensive uproar etc... Yet cab stops late... doesnt want to pick up said black man from stop... is rude... overcharges him..., the ride is bad, and while riding the cabbie gets a call from dispatch and he says oh i got this...insert stereotype about black men...a slang or derrogative term.and he adds to the dispatch can he dispatch me another pickup cause well he is black and you know how they is and he aint tipping... he drops him off... a few buildings from his destination and the cabbie rudely pulls off...

If the black guy says something... its as a whole not a big deal... will be followed by standup jokes etc... looked at as not offensive... or the good ole "he is just trying to pull the race card"

The white women its oh how rude.... that is song wrong and offensive how dare you call the fat white lady a fat white lady... we should hang and drag his feet to the fire.. Not saying anyone here is remotely like this... its just i find it funny and odd.. that as a whole the social norm is to say this is ok and ppl just blindly follow it....despite its obvious flawed and foolishness.

i don't doubt they went to another restaurant after to eat their sad emotions away

word, I don't even mind a joke, but people are being serious... and still missing the point completely
laugh.gif
I just think that people are tired of the "pc'ness" surrounding overweight folks.  Although overweight want to be considered some special class, they are not. They're just overweight.

yeah, but these hypocrites aren't fed up with "pc'ness" in general, and we both know that.

What if the "Fat Girls" were your sisters?

What if a waiter wrote, "Old Broad" on your mom's receipt?

What if...[tears]

IF SHE DIDN'T WANT TO BE CALLED OLD, MAYBE SHE SHOULD KILL HERSELF AT 21!!! [/nter]
:lol

what if the customer lady was being rude, and demanding... would it be OK to put ***** on the receipt?

People are totally missing the point in this.

old broad isnt a factual term or statement it is a pun form of insult to describe a older woman...Now if my greatgrandma of 92 went out to a restuarant and it was a factua;/true notation about her being older/elderly would i be mad/offended....oops oh wait they already do this... when they stamp reciepts with "SENIOR CITIZEN"........

There's a common form of tact that you seem to be missing, though.

I mean, you're typing, so it's hard to distinguish tones and what not. But even if you were referring to a personal feature of mine that was factual, it will convey a certain message depending on how someone says it.

To call someone fat in a certain way, even if it is true, can be emotionally scarring. It's belittling and mocking.

Damn, I thought big people spend more money on food? Why would the restaurant diss their best customers?

This thread really does show the age/mindset of the majority of the posters. Ironically these are the same dudes that would be posting in the girl thread about the same name calls "she called me ugly man.....I don't have any confidence" and "I gotta slim down I don't even like going out anymore". These women don't need to be reminded they are "fat", overweight, black, or whatever when they go to eat. They have names and a table number. Grow up NT. I bet if you mom that lost her hair from cancer got "bald lady on here receipt" you'd be cool with that? Its the truth right she's bald? Man just stop it.
