Buying CDs isn’t giving the artists money, it’s like voting for them. You’re not really gonna give an artist money unless you hand them a dub. Some get majority of their tour revenue but most don’t. Same goes for merch.

If you don’t buy or stream albums you love, hurts their chances of putting out another album on that label or altogether. Times have changed though so it’s a little easier for an artist to put out an album on their owns

If the artist is truly independent and not faking the funk like most are, they’re getting good $5-$8 every CD sale and getting majority of the tour and merch money

But wouldn't most artists have a certain shelf life? And with that shelf life, I'm pretty much funding the next best thing, even if I didn't "vote" for them.

That’s hypocritical tbh. You’re ok with dudes constantly rapping about shooting and killing their own getting locked up etc as long as it’s “hard” and/or lyrical, because they went through it. But for a druggie it’s different because your tired of it?

The worst part is hip-hop artists who stay away from that kind of energy are torn down and are deemed "not authentic" or "weirdos". Can't name how many times people clowned Kanye, Kendrick, Drake, Chance, Big Sean, etc for being soft or not hard enough, or not real.

(AllHipHop News) The New York Police Department is investigating a shooting in Brooklyn last week, which they believe is connected to a feud between Tekashi 6ix9ine and Casanova.

Both men, who are members of the Bloods street gang, have been at odds for months, trading insults and threats over social media.

Last week in Brooklyn, two of Casanova's associates were shot in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during a video shoot.

Cops say at least 10 shots were fired at the men, who were sent to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Police in Brooklyn are also busy investigating a separate shooting inside of the Barclay's Center during the Adrien Broner/Jessie Vargas fight on Saturday (April 21).Investigators said an associate of rapper 6ix9ine is the main suspect in the shooting, which occurred during a run-in Casanova and his crew.

This ain't ever have much to do with Cas.... Everything to do with a clown ***** doing clown **** all over the country. From the jump Cas being a ***** who was in the streets & really on some blood **** had ALL the ability in the world to call out a ***** claiming Blood & doing foolish ****. **** the industry, the rapping etc etc... out of straight principles he had every right to address that.
