He came around after Yams had already uploaded his DNA into Rocky. Yams was like the internet Quincy Jones and at that time Purp was like an underground god. It wasn't just ASAP...a whole subgenre of ****** popped off of him around that time. That dark, occult aesthetic all came from Purp...who got it from Three Six/Bone.
FTR...I wouldn't accuse alot of these dudes of "stealing" sauce. Art inspires art. Everything is a remix in some form or another.
Alot of ****** shuffle thru different sauces/gimmicks until one sticks. Yams had the foresight to know that particular aesthetic was the one that was going to pop them off.
