I don't anybody disputes Wayne's being a legend or popularity. Some people just don't think he was ever this untouchable lyrical beast his hardcore fans claim he was.

His fans use to foam at the mouth over those 9 minute freestyles about nothing. Good times. I guess when you’re 12 during his peak, everything seems cold.

You’re not really saying anything new tho . Him lacking substance, does not take away from his artistry or impact or the good , timeless music he has in fact put out. You could even make a parallel between Wayne & Snoop Dogg. Wayne belongs in the discussion for hitmakers with Jay Z, Drake, Kanye (just like TIP himself said). Idk where you’re getting Nas from. That’s a completely different discussion (although, they will tell you he’s technically skilled)

If some kid born in 96, sees Lil Wayne as their “goat”...they’re probably wrong, but it isn’t like he isn’t deserving to be even considered that. He’s literally like one of the 10 most influential, biggest rappers of all time. And the biggest rappers of TODAY, and the past...give him his roses.

You not appreciating his lack of substance is a preference thing. And that’s fine. But earlier in here, mfer’s were saying that LIL WAYNE does not have enough billboard hits...to go head up with Ti. That’s flat out wrong. Then it switched to Lil Wayne don’t got enough “joints for the trenches” to go with TI. Which is also wrong. Then it went to, “he doesn’t have anything before 04-05”....which is also just flat out wrong.

Bruh can sit at the table with rap heavyweights. Lack of substance is a fair critique. Nobody is denying that.
