I asked you specifically about whites committing more crimes than blacks and you replied back that whites make up a greater %age of the population. Ok, but I also asked "why isn't this the narrative?" Why is "Blacks killing each other, OMG!" the media narrative if by and large, most people kill the people that they're around more often?

In my opinion? The media is racist.

Like you probably already know, in our capitalistic country inner city blacks generally have no effect on the "1%." Like that chess scene in the Wire, as long as the king stays the king and the pyramid stays in tact, the rest is expendable. No need to change. Same goes for the united states' inner cities

i've avoided posting in this thread because i'm still not over trayvon's death and how the trial was mishanded. but ninjahood is a clown. he's so insecure and transparent. it's really something else.

it's like he's deflecting his sense of racial inferiority by going out his way to disrespect blacks every chance he gets. he's talking about he never had racist experiences? maybe because he stays confined to the heights which is 1,000% dominican. probably went to school there his entire life and rarely leaves. why don't you take the 1 to midtown and tell me you don't experience racism? chelsea? e. vil? or are you just saying it to create more of an argument?

the division among black minorities (african americans and hispanics) is too ironic because we're all still in the same boat. spanish people are so consumed by their own culture that they somehow think they've been dealt a better hand. the entire spanish culture is a deviation of african culture (music especially). whites will never look at you as an equal, no matter how hard you reject your complexion. you're only playing yourself.

here's a difference between being aware of your environment/history + its context and playing victim. you and ninjahood have this exaggerated idea of blacks as self-loathing people wallowing in misery all day. millions of us are pushing for better lives given the hand we've been dealt. should we ignore the context of our reality and pretend our history doesn't exist?

This brings me back to a conversation I was having at work ...

Someone was referring to President Obamas speech stating he hit the nail in the head. He went along to say something in regards to people don't know what blacks have gone thru. That they have the right to complain as they have suffer the most.

I brought up the Jews and he said in America and then I said the Native Indians and he said, they didn't suffer as much as we did. I said they got killed no slavery option and now they are confine to camps (which is by choice). He was like and you said that's suffering more than blacks?

Like I don't get it man - slavery been over - why dwell on the past. Yes we have to acknowledge it happen and it's a tragedy but to bring it up every time something goes wrong is ******g stupid. Furthermore, to not try and move on is stupid.

I love when people tell us that Easy for you to say. When almost every problem in the black community is specifically related to slavery, segregation and racism.

Africans experienced the same plight as latinos, and have different views than black americans. It's a totally different experience, because even though they have the influence of europeans, they still have many of their own traditions and a country or continent. Non foreign born black people in this country, have absolutely nothing of our own. Other ones grasp on to being Jamaican, Trini, Bajan...
