Either you're being willfully dense or you're quite clueless. You honestly have no clue why someone would say that? I wouldn't say it personally, but I understand the basic sentiment.
There are obvious parallels between Trayvon, a kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong skin color, and the Afro-American race, who, through no fault of their own, were subjugated, dehumanized, and victimized for hundreds of years?

So since I've been in the wrong place at the wrong time and been dehumanized because of my skin color a couple of times... I also get to represent ALL black people? Or is this title only reserved for Trayvon? Why cant Darius Simmons (RIP) represent ALL black people? He also lost his life for being the wrong skin color at the wrong time and it was more recent. So can we elect a 13 year old to represent all black people too?
And although Im a 6'3 200+ black man living in the south and have been the wrong color at the wrong time at the wrong place....Im smart enough to know that not ALL black people are victims of this.

Why don't the disparities in blacks committing crimes vs whites committing crimes match the disparity in blacks in jail vs. whites in jail?
Whites use illegal drugs MORE often than blacks. Why do blacks go to jail for drug related crimes more often than whites?
Why do blacks typically earn more jail time for the same crimes?
Why is the mandatory minimum higher for crack vs cocaine given equal amounts?

The rate for blacks decreased from 2000 to 2009
but who did it rise for in rather large numbers
The prison industrial complex will make up for those numbers some how.
More deflection. Where are you even going with this. Most of the prison system is populated with non-violent offenders.
It's an insult to everyone's intelligence to state that these cases are solely about "one person killed another person" by comparing it to everyday Black on Black murders. Marissa Alexander didn't kill anyone, but she is going to do 20 years in prison and I see plenty of outrage about it.
