Owner of resell company “West Coast Streetwear” mom is a VP at Nike - UPDATE - mom forced to step down

^ confidentiality and privacy?
i don't know what nike considered sensitive information in regards to shoe releases and such

I wasn't talking about stocks.
I'm referring to the kind of info that employees know but aren't supposed to exploit for their own gain while they're on the company payroll.
Yup.

Like when Adidas bought Reebok.

People who worked at Adidas at that time, could not trade, nor of tell anyone if such a deal were in the works.

why do yall getting so angry lmao. What happened to this kid legit doesnt affect any of us and wont give you a better chance to hit shoes.....
This is such a copout statement. Nobody here is angry, in fact I’m pretty sure nobody really cares that much. We’re just here wasting time and chatting like people normally do. If y’all don’t like the topic then just keep it moving.. I guess close all threads unless you’re mad.

Let AirMax Karen get his rap on

I don't know either.
What we all know is that Nike is not dumb about the secondary market value of their shoes, and management knows better than outsiders (us) and low level workers the financial, PR, and legal ramifications of letting their employees partake in the secondary market, which is why they have a policy against it.

Ex-VP was in the position to access that knowledge too, so for her to be within reach of her son's reselling business was a dumb move. She should've known his loose lips would sink her ship.

He didn’t intentionally expose himself. He called the reporter from a phone registered in his mother’s name. The reporter found it odd that the phone was in someone else’s name, did a quick Google search, and found out who his mom is. When questioned about it, the kid stopped responding to calls.

Wait he's moving bricks and doesn't have a burner? Rookie.

Kid is 19 can’t open up a llc till ur 18 I’m pretty sure so he was most likely underage only thing he took advantage was the moms capital and her discounts at the outlets . He botted the pairs himself with his crew and hit the outlets with his crew . She ain’t back door any pairs to him . Media is blowing it up seeming like he was getting off white Jordan and Travis releases for retail or under retail and getting hundreds of these pairs . He only gets bulk in the general releases

Yeah I realize this. The only question I have is how he got access to the air mags. There’s no way he “found” em. That’s ********. That makes me question everything about the mother and what she knew / was doing.

6 pairs of air mags in a storage? You don’t think the mom was just trynna get some loot off the sales? The optics are all ****** up because of her position within the company. It looks extremely bad.

When you get to a certain level of reselling and known as a major player you would be surprised the stuff you randomly get offered and stumbled on.

When the What The Dunk SB dropped I just happened to find 24 pairs.

I feel you but I don’t buy it. The story just screams ******** to me.

Since this news came out Nike and resellers are the problem. Supply is eaten up by more resellers and not only is Nike not increasing supply, but they aren’t doing enough to stop reselling and bots. And nothing gonna positively change right?

Resellers are just as much of the problem as anyone who has ever bought from one. Are crack dealers the ones to blame for drug addictions?

If Nike isnt doing anything to stop resellers and bots, then why is SNKRS one of the most difficult sites to bot?
ndc is a different story, but then again, how many hype shoes drop on ndc.

People wish they were this kid. That’s why. This is hilarious. Look at person with most posts in this thread and what they’ve been saying. It’s the player haters ball in here.

Pretty sure we all would’ve loved to be born into a wealthy upbringing, and not ever have to worry about finances. But that’s life.

Many would rather work for what they do instead of getting hand me downs.

The kid took advantage of it, messed up so don’t be surprised that 90% of the commenters are here just to clown on him.

The family had money, but was just dumb as hell.

you keep forgetting kid has capital could have easily bought all the pairs .You keep forgetting he was trying to blow up on social media before all this so it’s a bait post to gain attention and that’s where the interviews and media press came from He’s tryingto get people to join his group and that’s where the easy Money comes in charging membership fees
