Owner of resell company “West Coast Streetwear” mom is a VP at Nike - UPDATE - mom forced to step down

I don't agree with the baseless accusations at all, but I also do not agree that Nike is innocent. I went through something similar a long time ago and I also had accusations thrown at me.

I edited the post because I figured it would just create more back and fourth and arguments I just don't want to have.
You don’t like baseless claims so you made your own baseless claims.

What if this kid was actually getting pairs from other employees he had met through his mom without her knowledge?

you said this right?

Stop

Using only the facts provided, LLC opened by father, business funded by mother, can what this kid (and his family) did be considered market manipulation and/or price gouging, in your opinion or something close to either of those? Was this business ethical regarding NIKE’s code of conduct?

The Nike code of conduct is defiantly the one I imagine that cost her job.

Some of y 'all just making things up who have no idea what happened and as a result it's causing a lot of frustration within the hobby that is really unwarranted.

What if this kid was actually getting pairs from other employees he had met through his mom without her knowledge?
What if the mom didn’t just shut his operation down or at the very least cut financial ties when she saw him drop a stockroom on her back porch? She follows all of his social media.

You don’t like baseless claims so you made your own baseless claims. Gotcha

This is why I edited that, but I will address it. I actually know many people who's parent's work or have worked for Nike that have used that as a way to get connections and access without parents knowledge.

No sh**. I think we all figured that part out.

So your bias is in favor of the shenanigans and you want this to go away without any legal precedents. Got it.

Ah, whenever somebody says “I have a friend” or “I know somebody”…….

Well you obviously don't know my story. I'm not going to get into it, but I was fired from Nike 16 years ago for basically the same situation. I have lived in Beaverton for almost 30 years so yeah "I have a friend" and "I know somebody".

would you ever go back?

Paging Pascal Hebert and Joe Hebert!

Please report to NT and explain yourself, *ahem* I mean your “friend’s” actions in a way that’ll make us look stupid for seeing the obvious... :nerd:

You made my point. I was just trying to show that people are making things up that only fit the narrative they want out here. As soon as I throw something out that does not fit that narrative someone has a problem with making baseless claims.

Here’s one thing I don’t get. Up until that Bloomberg article the kid had the common sense to cover his face and keep his identity quiet. Why did that change? The maths not mathing.

Just to put it out I'm sure that legally they are not allowed to comment on anything related to Nike.

He didn’t intentionally expose himself. He called the reporter from a phone registered in his mother’s name. The reporter found it odd that the phone was in someone else’s name, did a quick Google search, and found out who his mom is. When questioned about it, the kid stopped responding to calls.

Kid is 19 can’t open up a llc till ur 18 I’m pretty sure so he was most likely underage only thing he took advantage was the moms capital and her discounts at the outlets . He botted the pairs himself with his crew and hit the outlets with his crew . She ain’t back door any pairs to him . Media is blowing it up seeming like he was getting off white Jordan and Travis releases for retail or under retail and getting hundreds of these pairs . He only gets bulk in the general releases

Checked in to see why this was 20+ pages. Lots of bitterness and jealousy in here. Not saying this isn’t wrong and not saying the kids not an idiot. He coulda easily gotten away with it (I would’ve). But some of y’all acting like he murdered someone and pocket watching heavy. Y’all big mad

why do yall getting so angry lmao. What happened to this kid legit doesnt affect any of us and wont give you a better chance to hit shoes.....

People wish they were this kid. That’s why. This is hilarious. Look at person with most posts in this thread and what they’ve been saying. It’s the player haters ball in here.

Do you even know what insider trading is because this is not that.

I wasn't talking about stocks.
I'm referring to the kind of info that employees know but aren't supposed to exploit for their own gain while they're on the company payroll.
