Owner of resell company “West Coast Streetwear” mom is a VP at Nike - UPDATE - mom forced to step down

If addresses are easy to change up, couldn't websites just say one pair per household/credit card number? Do bots run 40-50 CCs too? One could cross reference and find duplicates with relative ease. But to many retailers, a sale is a sale. Onto the next.

People with bots have thousands of “cc”, VCCs have been around for years.

So now y’all wanna complain that it’s not fair that Nike employees family members get inside info? I swear so many of y’all living in fantasy land.

Over the years I have seen and met so many young people in here that wanted to work for Nike for basically the ability to be able to get hookups on shoes. How about all these rich collectors who some of you idolize who get ultra limited samples and PE’s from Nike connects? Where is the outrage over that?

Working at a Nike outlet or Niketown ≠ working at Nike corporate

Yeah, 'cause that's the same thing.

You're the one in lalaland though. Making money off insider knowledge is a big corporate no-no, regardless of where you work.

She messed up. After 25 years at Nike, she should've known better than being explicitly involved in her son's business, especially when she knows how the company views employees who take advantage of the discount to resell.

Get him an apartment, get him his own phone number, withdraw 10k cash and let him have it as seed money. That way, when his dumbass decides to become a celebrity, deny, deny, deny any involvement.

Do you even know what insider trading is because this is not that.

This happens all the time. =/= This is the right way of doing business.

I don’t think I’ve ever used the word “fair” in a discussion about right and wrong. “Fair” is up to interpretation whereas legal vs illegal isn’t. If what the kid and his family did is proven legal AFTER an investigation, I won’t lose any sleep, but since this goober wanted attention for all the wrong things and was too stupid to cover his tracks, he deserves the investigation.

Equating hookups in one off situations to full size runs obtained on a discount and then selling at double or more than retail price makes me wonder if the people typing it actually mean it or just think others are too stupid to notice the difference.

this nike apologist really got me dying over here
i hope he's still a kid

Def not a Nike apoligist I just don't see why the outrage especially over something that I assumed was widely known in sneaker hobby.

This is 100% correct. This is the biggest issue here, but seems that most don't see that.

I don't agree with the baseless accusations at all, but I also do not agree that Nike is innocent. I went through something similar a long time ago and I also had accusations thrown at me.

I edited the post because I figured it would just create more back and fourth and arguments I just don't want to have.

Using only the facts provided, LLC opened by father, business funded by mother, can what this kid (and his family) did be considered market manipulation and/or price gouging, in your opinion or something close to either of those? Was this business ethical regarding NIKE’s code of conduct?
