Sucker Punch...I know...but the extended edition is the real movie and it's solid good genre filmmaking. The one that came out in theaters was a studio destroyed hackjob.
I really wanted to track it down and use the Best Buy Trade&Save discount on it (along with The Incredible Hulk), but each time I went they were sold out, and they restocked when I couldn't go.
Sucker Punch just didn't make sense. Zach Snyder is a much better director than what I saw on the big screen. He's no Scorsese, but I think he can be a really good genre filmmaker.
PA3 was very good. Probably best horror film of the year.
Straw Dogs I really enjoyed, and it's a movie I would enjoy and that I knew I would enjoy. I wish more people would check it out. Alexander Skarsgard is awesome. It's not for everyone though, the gore can be a bit much. The script isn't anything amazing, but all the performances were fine, it's no Devil/The Happening. It was as good as any of the soso summer blockbusters on there (like Cowboys & Aliens).
