No idea how Cannavale gets these top roles. He's always just been a decent, never above average actor to me.

I give him kudos for snagging Rose Byrne.

His best work (and where I first saw him) was Gyp Rosetti in Boardwalk Empire.

Show starts out with this girl wandering her way back to her family. She's been missing for like 5-10 years. She was kidnapped.

The show revolves around her explaining what happened to her during this time. She recruits 5 people to listen to her story and help her free the other people held captive.

She comes to the conclusion that she is the Original Angel and she has special powers. She needs to teach the 5 people these special movements that will open up another dimension and free those captives.

Last episode reveals that she was just delusional the whole time. She made up everything because of her trauma from being a kidnap victim. The 5 kids end up doing the choreographed dance thingy to distract a school shooter in the schools cafeteria, and the girl gets shot and dies? The end. Huge waste of time and I feel insanely stupid for watching the whole thing.

One thing that was stupid to me was setting up a whole episode to plan his fake death to give it away in an instant. Waste of time. I hope this is a one off thing and they don't drag this for seasons.

Damn, now I want to re-watch the series. One of my favorites, ended too soon IMO. Could have went on for another decades worth of material to work with.

One thing that was stupid to me was setting up a whole episode to plan his fake death to give it away in an instant. Waste of time. I hope this is a one off thing and they don't drag this for seasons.

I mean those dudes would find out eventually the way Bob Lee is taking out their goons but the key thing is the rest of the world thinks he's dead.

They moving at a pretty brisk pace. I don't think much will be dragged out. Just remember the scope, after he takes out Epps and the CIA dude and his lackey there's still the Russians.

Movie basically starts with the mystery and pursuit underway. I think it takes place in the south, definitely in Florida by the end.

- Little boy has powers and/or is possessed by an alien.

- He periodically has to release some energy from within himself; intense white light coming out of his eyes and sometimes mouth, able to shut down electronics, emp blast, tap in to radio waves, manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum, etc.

- His dad (Nelson Van Alden a.k.a. Zod) and his friend are trying to take him to a place where he can make contact with the aliens or be helped to no longer have this power.

- A cult is after the kid. For a sec there I want to say the dad and the kid were in the cult and then escaped. Anyway these cult members are willing to kill. Keep in mind these are just regular looking white ppl. Easily can mistake them for your usual religious folk.

- The gov. is after this kid too cuz he's leaving noticeable energy fluctuations and shutdowns in that area. Lame *** Kylo Ren is the specialist but I don't know if the field is science based or aliens. They setting up road blocks and all that.

- Zod and friend pick up the kid's mom, Snaggletooth. They keep driving around taking breaks for gas and food. Kid stops a few times to release energy. Every now and then he meets a stranger and blasts all that light and energy in to their eyes and mouth.

- Cult guys find them at a motel, shoot the dad and friend, tie them up, take the kid.

- Soon after they run in to a roadblock and have a shootout with soldiers. Now the gov. has the kid.

- Zod, his friend, and Snaggletooth escape and try to Chase down the cult dudes.

- Kylo Ren tries to question the kid. Kid manipulated him in to helping him escape or just nicely explains it. Then shuts off the energy of like the entire South or something. Ren delivers kid back to parents.

- Kid claims he's from another dimension and has to get back to his people.

- It dawns on parents that the kid may also be leaving and not coming back.

- Zod tricks soldiers in to a chase while Snaggletooth actually takes the kid in to the woods to a clearing so he can leave.

- Big energy blast, kid gone, Zod and friend in prison. The end.

I swear I don't get the high rating this movie has. The acting was okay but the story was incredibly boring. I guess this was like what if parents had an ET and sent it home?

bypassed past few pages and this page. watching the oa now and on ep 3. it's ok so far.

He tried to go for that modern ET vibe, but it just fell flat.

I watched for Michael Shannon and Joel Edgerton. I'll pretty much watch anything Shannon is in.

Only until after the movie and I was so perplexed and disappointed that I had to look up who directed/wrote it.

I liked Mud from Nichols and I plan to still see Loving.

That recap with the replaced names was pretty good. I need a thread of just that.

I could've really went in but it's not like invaded the movie. It was just I was looking forward to it (even though I ain't see it in theaters), stayed away from any spoilers, and in the end it felt like a waste of time.

Watching Don't Mess With the Zohan because it's on Showtime and my son thinks Sandler movies are funny. But the point is Emmanuelle Chriqui is hot. Probably in my top 5. She's right up there with JLH.
