Are you serious? Chris Paul made Chandler look like a damn all star. CP3 and Howard would shatter the alley-oop record by the All Star Break.
All you need to do is play above the rim and Dwight definitely does that plus more.
Amen

Lobs don't win Championships or make you advance in the postseason, a post game does though, and the Magic would still lack one. They would be better cause Paul is a floor general, but, not significantly. Every championship since Jordan retired the first time, came from teams with a good or dominant low post threat, Olajuwon 2x, Jordan 3x, Shaq 4x, Duncan 4x, Sheed 1x, Garnett 1x, Kobe amd Gasol 2x. Now tell me I'm wrong again suckas

Sheed and Garnett don't exactly spend all their time on the block though.

Forgot all about Samardo, Dude fell off x100!

Btw NT, is it dumb to be more excited your team chose Turner over Wall? I hope i'm right but i feel Turner is going to become a superstar in the L ( Even though his voice still makes me cringe every time he speaks ) lol

You right CP, so lets put them on the good side, but we all know they could and did put in work down low and they were a threat. Dwight aint even a threat unless he catch the ball right by the basket.

If this happens...

Do you watch basketball? Even with Howard's lacking offensive game, he STILL puts up 20 a game. Anyone putting up 20 a night is a threat.

I've never been sold on Jameer Nelson as a starting point guard for a championship team (or even a "perennial all star" as someone mentioned earlier). He averages only 5 assists and not even a steal per game. You bring in Paul (a real perennial all star) who can get you 10 assists and 2 steals a night. Definitely an upgrade for the team since Carter is on the decline.

LOS ANGELES -- The NBA draft could be moving to Los Angeles next year and possibly the next three years as Madison Square Garden undergoes summer construction which won't be complete until 2014.

Tim Leiweke, President and CEO of AEG, said Monday he is currently talking to the league about holding the NBA draft at Staples Center or the Nokia Theatre next year and is hoping it will be a partnership that will last longer than that.

"We are talking to them and they are a high priority for us," said Leiweke. "They're comfortable here; they helped design our campus so it would be a perfect fit."

A league source says a timetable hasn't been set on announcing the location for next year's draft but chances are good the draft could be moving away from New York for the first time since 2001 as Madison Square Garden undergoes off-season construction.

"We've told them they can have it here for one, two, three years, whatever they need," Leiweke said. "We'll give them the flexibility that they need. We have a window that's open for [next year's NBA draft] so from a scheduling standpoint it works out well for us and them."

The NHL draft is being held at Staples Center on Friday and Saturday and Leiweke said the NBA is already looking at ways to utilize the LA Live campus during the draft as the NHL did this week.

"We have a tremendous relationship with the NBA so we stay in constant communication," he said. "They're aware of what we're doing this week and they're keeping an eye out on us and trying to see what the NHL did to activate the campus so I am extremely optimistic if the NBA makes a decision to move that we have a really good shot at getting them here."

Leiweke said he wasn't sure when he would know if the NBA draft would be coming to Los Angeles but said he would make the Staples Center and Nokia Theatre available to them and hopes a decision will be made by the time the NBA All-Star Game is held at Staples Center on Feb. 20.

If the NBA decides to move the draft to Los Angeles it would likely be held at the Nokia Theatre across the street from Staples Center. Nokia Theatre, a 7,100-seat venue, is more similar to the NBA draft's current home, The Theater at Madison Square Garden, which seats 5,600.

"The NBA could go into Nokia and it would actually be big for them compared to where they do it now or they could do it at Staples," Leiweke said. "It's their choice but we've made it clear to them that they could have either."

Magic May Be Near Deal For Chris Paul
Orlando Would Send Vince Carter, Jameer Nelson To New Orleans

ORLANDO, Fla. -- It is draft night in the NBA, and it seems the Orlando Magic are in the mood to make a deal.

Rumors of New Orleans point guard Chris Paul coming to Orlando for Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson seem to be more real than the Magic are saying.

Local 6 sports director David Pingalore, through his NBA sources, is confirming the deal could be completed as soon as Orlando Magic General Manager Otis Smith finds a third team for Hornets Center Emeka Okafor.

If for some reason that deal does not work, the Magic have a backup plan.

The Chicago Bulls sent Kirk Hinrich to Washington on Thursday, and according to Pingalore's NBA sources, he could be traded with Al Thornton and Randy Foye for Vince Carter.

Continue to follow this developing story on ClickOrlando.com and Local 6 News.

I don't know, a local spot breaking a huge trade like this?

Sketch.

saying dwight isn't a threat in the post is laughable...he doesn't have the prettiest post game but he can get the job done down there

Dampier is only going to be gone for a big FA.

I highly doubt we'd trade Dampier for Okafor, I'd think we'd shoot for something much higher.

I've been wondering what you think the Mavs should do in the off-season for minute now. I remember last year's thread and you posting that Dampier's weird contract is going to help you guys get a legit FA to help Dirk. I don't think Cuban is dumb enough to get another version of Dampier and Haywood in Okafor, but he has the money... and does he even believe in rebuilding/reloading any time soon? LOL. Hard to beat the Lakers right now in the West.

If i were them, i'd take on Okafor's bad contract for Dampier, and take in NO's + Orlando's future first round picks.

Sure, it might be late 20s, but it'll be a good way to start rebuilding. They need another centerpiece around Dirk. Sure, hes got a few more years left since he doesnt really use his athleticism, but they need to start planning for the future, and fast.

Riley Isn't Shopping Beasley, Not Counting On Three Maxes

Heat president Pat Riley shot down two rumors claiming that Michael Beasley isn't on the block and that signing three players to max-level contracts is a longshot.

"I want to build a team, and it takes five guys to build a team, and whatever kind of room we created, it's to build a team," Riley stressed.

"That's not going to happen," Riley said of trading Beasley. "We are not that desperate for room, to trade the second pick in the draft.

"We want to build around him."

See, actually I watch A LOT of basketball and that's why I can make that statement. Think of it like this; The size, speed, quickness, and explosiveness he has, he barely averages 20 and he doesn't get double teamed. So he gets those 20 points on pure athletic ability. Does that make him a low post THREAT that will go and get you consistent bucket down low? hell naw. Dwight scores off put backs, 5 footers, and lobs. That doesn't make him a low post threat

also Thorn is stepping down in the New Jersey. His choice, not forced out. Pritchard want a job already?
