***Official Political Discussion Thread***

A 70+ y/o longtime senator having a home in his hometown,in Washington where he works and a summer home really is appalling??

He's literally one of the least wealthy members of the Senate too according to Politifact and with Mayo Pete, the least wealthy person in this race so if people are appalled by that, they'll be petrified by everyone else

The bad faith arguments of the week (homes, supporters, health etc) we've been seeing pushed seemingly have nothing to do with policy at all which is what would actually effect peoples lives funny enough. Not manufactured attack lines

In other news

Of course >D

That’s the problem. Most people do not and can not break things down in a logical manner like you just did.

Can't they just say that they don't like socialism. We all hate Dwalk because he hates black people but won't say it and he makes us talk about everything else under the sun except his manifest anti blackness because of his oblique rhetorical nonsense.

I tend to think that you make solid points pretty often. There’s no need to disparage me with made-up nonsense to get your point across.

I’m black, and it doesn’t wash off. Make your points, but you’re better than the ad hominem attacks.

Soon people will complain that Bernie uses Morton's salt and not the generic brand, or that he got power windows in his car, or he pays for an HBO subscription.

That said, neither Bernie nor Bloomberg (who kept telling us he's giving away all his money) is Jesus. They haven't shed all worldly possessions and they don't walk around in sandals and subside off fish they catch. If that's your standard, well, too bad. Anyone doing so now is more likely to need psychiatric care than to be a messiah.

I don't mind Bernie having a $600k home (which, as pointed out, would get you practically nothing in NYC or the bay). I also don't necessarily mind Bloomberg being a billionaire. I do mind when people become so out-of-touch that they're borderline delusional or, if they want to run for president, make bad policy decisions or become beholden to wealthy or powerful parasites rather than to the people and to their conscience.

btw, I can't believe I'm defending a Communist! What has happened to me...

I may have to take it easy on my ‘Timmy > Kobe’ takes/trolling in light of recent of events....

He's not lying, if a stage of old senators can have him looking all stunned and flustered than imagine what king slander yoppa would do

Would have the battle of Midway looking like a charity boxing match

Probably been 50 years since someone talked to Mr. Burns that way.

Let alone a woman.

Mo money, Mo sycophants.

Rich / powerful people are emotionally weak in general.

Comes with the bubble.

"It's an incredibly consistent effect," Mr. Keltner says. "When you give people power, they basically start acting like fools. They flirt inappropriately, tease in a hostile fashion, and become totally impulsive." Mr. Keltner compares the feeling of power to brain damage, noting that people with lots of authority tend to behave like neurological patients with a damaged orbito-frontal lobe, a brain area that's crucial for empathy and decision-making. Even the most virtuous people can be undone by the corner office.

Why does power lead people to flirt with interns and solicit bribes and fudge financial documents? According to psychologists, one of the main problems with authority is that it makes us less sympathetic to the concerns and emotions of others. For instance, several studies have found that people in positions of authority are more likely to rely on stereotypes and generalizations when judging other people. They also spend much less time making eye contact, at least when a person without power is talking.

This is great to hear. If King of the Socialists can finally admit how superior Donald J Trump is, maybe there is hope for the rest of the libbies after all.

I know you're waiting until tomorrow to make it public, but I can't help myself. Congrats to Based Jesus Based Jesus on the engagement!!!! I know she's a socialist, but Coal Gang is struggling with declining membership, so we're being more "open-minded" with our new members.

AOC -- you got a player for life, and that's no bull****ting.

Did Big Mama tell you!?! I know she can't keep a secret but you know I couldn't propose and not tell her first. Thanks for the well wishes fam. The "diamond" in the ring is actually coal converted into a crystal. Mined the coal myself then paid a lab to do it. So happy she said yes.
