Ohio governor condemns reports of neo-Nazis marching in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and multiple Columbus city officials made their thoughts known Saturday after receiving earlier reports that a group of neo-Nazis marched in the Short North Arts District.

NBC4 received multiple eyewitness accounts and video around 1:45 p.m. of the march, which showed at least eleven people wearing masks walking down the sidewalk. The group carried flags bearing swastikas near the intersection of 1st Avenue and North High Street, and also shouted obscenities into a megaphone. DeWine, who denounced the group’s actions, also confirmed more details of the incident.

“We will not tolerate hate in Ohio,” DeWine wrote. “Neo-Nazis — their faces hidden behind red masks — roamed streets in Columbus today, carrying Nazi flags and spewing vile and racist speech against people of color and Jews. There were reports that they were also espousing white power sentiments.”

Last line: "The protesters were asked to move and there were no arrests."

It's not a heavy red district and she only won because her opponent was a literal CIA agent that's been a loud Trump supporter since before he first lost to her in 2020.

MGP is steady losing support from the left in Vancouver and it's a miracle she won this election. She will not win another unless she strongly pivots to a less-moderate position before 2024. Her votes matter and her constituents follow her voting.

Welp

Once again...bravo Merrick Garland...bravo

What's Garland supposed to do about this? It's been expected for the last 4 years that Trump would pardon at least some of the insurrectionists if he were to get back in office.

All these investigations, trials, etc. were all shams. What was the point of any of that nonsense over the past four years if the end result was the equivalent of me getting detention in elementary school? What a joke.

If that’s the way things work, fine, but then nobody with a criminal record in this country should be barred from employment ever again.

I don’t want to hear about someone getting the usual “he’s a THUG, what do you expect” for having some random misdemeanor, pictures of smoking weed or posing with a gun, etc. when the highest positions in this country can be filled by convicted felons and people who send Christmas greeting cards with assault rifles.

Apparently every president (former or current) is actually above the law no matter what anyone says

The thing is, I have no problem with Republicans being “tough on crime” and “law and order” on paper. Too many Americans of all backgrounds need severe behavioral modification.

BUT “tough on crime” needs to be applied fairly. You can’t beat up subway gate hoppers for cheating the city out of $2 while giving people like Trump and Elon the equivalent of verbal warnings for 100000x worse offenses. You can’t preach about “law and order” when Trump supporters violently attack politicians and peaceful protestors. You can’t bash Chicago 24/7 and talk about sending in troops there, while Republican states are allowed to have the highest gun violence per capita.

 no it doesn't,

MGP, appears moderate to voters BY TAKING MODERATE POSITIONS no amount of cherry picking will allow you to escape from this fact;

"She was one of just seven Democrats to side with Kevin McCarthy on a resolution condemning the use of elementary school facilities to provide shelter for undocumented immigrants"

"She voted with Republicans to repeal the D.C. criminal code revision, which the D.C. ACLU called an insult to the “name of democracy and common sense.”"

" And she was one of only four Democrats to vote for a National Defense Authorization Act that limited transgender health care and diversity training, banned “critical race theory” for military personnel,"

you need to take moderate positions to appear moderate. this is politics 101.

The professional left has been telling people, that if you deliver enough government benefits, people won't care about this stuff.
This clearly is NOT TRUE.

to be moderate YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO TAKE MODERATE POSITIONS AGAINST YOUR PARTY.

stop lying to yourself about this.

uhm wut? it's a swing district that Trump won by 1 point right?

Why would taking a less moderate position give her better chance in a Trump +1 district?
