***Official Political Discussion Thread***

It’s not hatred for transgendered. It’s not wanting biological men to endanger women. It’s really not that hard to understand, but the trans movement is strong.

How often is that actually happening?

and do you care about women being endangered with their right to choice being taken away?

Aye brah, this comment is way out of bounds. I dont give a AF if you don't agree with his reasonings for voting for trump, but who TF are you to question him as a father. That man is looking out for his daughter's well being. Unlike him, politics is your identity. His family is his.

It was alright for him to minimize my role in my niece's lives? Neither one of you know anything about me. Talking about politics is my identity? I barely post in here.

From the time I entered my polling place til walking out. Only took that long because I had to confirm all the judges up for removal were appointed by parsons.

Since I saw this tooic a few pages ago I'll bring this up.

Was having a convo with a friend that typically votes 3rd party because he is generally opposed to what our two major parties stand for. No he isn't MAGA but around this time he always voices his displeasure because he feels he is always shamed for his decision.

But he always asks if it's never the right time to vote for a 3rd party (he says everytime he had done so he has been shamed) when IS he "allowed" to do so if he truly doesn't support the two party system. He says people always talk about wanting to do away with the 2 party system but don't generally move in the way that supports that desire.

Honest question.

Local elections. Third party has to build a foundation before it can become a viable option nationally or otherwise. For third party candidates like Jill stein to have built no power locally and come back in four years and expect a different outcome is ludicrous. Can't break the two party system at the ballot box, that work has to be done on the ground, knocking on doors, building membership and candidates

A third party organization that is actually putting out a plan to change the political system is the Working Families Party. In a few years or even a decade, they might become a force in local politics, then National:

When it comes to caring about your daughters...Why isn't that energy directed at the rights attack on reproductive rights?

Some of us from blue states have been insulated from certain realities but if the expectation is that Trump will do something about Trans folk in girls sports, why would he stop there.

I read the comments, he did not minimize your role in your neice's life. All he said was it's not the same as being her father. You're right, I don't know much about you. But I know enough to say you are 100% out of pocket for that comment.

Bc it's not really about that, that's just a cover for their racism

I’m sorry but this “I have a daughter” and transgender athletes being your biggest concern regarding women’s rights is BS.

I don’t think people should have to use personal examples to justify why they support some things because human empathy should be enough not just direct relation but if we playing that game this what matters most to me when it comes to women’s rights. I have a wife and my biggest fear right now is if she gets pregnant the chances if God forbid some complications happen in the pregnancy that put her life at risk are far greater now with Roe being done away with and the laws Georgia is currently under because of that. Pregnancy is always difficult and hard, black women already have higher maternal mortality rate during child birth in this country and that’s even worse now. I could not live with myself if I did not do everything I could to restore those rights to protect my wife’s health if the worst came to worst during a pregnancy or a future daughters health if we ever had one. If the situation in Georgia now was what it was a few years ago my sister would be gone like some of the women now we seeing in the news everyday cause they live in a state that wouldn’t help them get the procedure they needed to save their life cause the doctors scared of catching a charge. The idea of that horrifies me how on earth could I look someone in the eye who’s life was saved because of the protections Roe lead to regarding pro choice and go “yea that’s cool but trans athletes tho that’s a bigger women’s rights issue I’m concerned with over something that actually directly affects your health choices and life”

**** outta here.
This… reminds me of all those ppl who suddenly cared about gay rights the moment their kid comes out. You couldn’t bring yourself to understanding/caring about your fellow man until it directly impacts you? And we wonder why the world has gone to ****.

It might be a hot take, but I can see a three-party system emerging if (and hopefully) Trump loses. I know a lot of unhappy Republicans who are voting for Kamala this election, and I can see the Republican party bifurcating into MAGA and non-MAGA parties.

As someone with 2 daughters I can firmly say their reproductive rights are of far more importance than whether they play against a trans person in a random sporting event.

Seems like a no brainer if you support a women’s right to choose and that’s your biggest hurdle.

Racism is not wanting biological men to have the same rights as biological women? This really is a wild time to be alive.
Trans sports is such a minor thing that no serious person has that as a deciding topic. It's typically a bs cover reason given to cover up their real reason to vote for the right bc they are too embarrassed to say they are racist, misogynistic, etc.
