***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Someone needs to teach you how to put a sentence together.
See.
😂
What a brilliant exchange.
You don’t need to change my thoughts to win my vote but those like dude who came in last night with the issue about his daughter playing sports with men, wow. Way to show him.
Election Day though. The madness ends soon, kids.

Since I saw this tooic a few pages ago I'll bring this up.

Was having a convo with a friend that typically votes 3rd party because he is generally opposed to what our two major parties stand for. No he isn't MAGA but around this time he always voices his displeasure because he feels he is always shamed for his decision.

But he always asks if it's never the right time to vote for a 3rd party (he says everytime he had done so he has been shamed) when IS he "allowed" to do so if he truly doesn't support the two party system. He says people always talk about wanting to do away with the 2 party system but don't generally move in the way that supports that desire.

Honest question.
I’ve struggled with this in the past a lot of people have tbh but this is what keeps me away from that third party stuff and being so mad about two parties. What matters more being right or being productive? The two party system isn’t perfect and has a lot of flaws that is clear. But am I going to be so upset about that to not participate at all? Regardless of the two party system my values the policies I want to see and the changes I want to see still exist. There is one group of people in one party that support virtually none of those things and the other has plenty of people that do to varying extents and actually care about being productive and not reductive from the grassroots level to the oval office. I’m going to do what I can to support productive change cause this is bigger than me and how I personally feel about the two party system that to me is not reason enough to not be productive unless the only thing you care about is being mad at their only being two parties. Me personally I care about more than that. I’ve made peace with that a long time ago and it was shocking how quickly all my complaints went away and realized that was just making it about me and my beefs and not what’s best for society at large when I focused more on actually backing productive ****.

Everybody in here with the “how do you expect Trump to change this and this”

Can this question not be asked about either candidate? The questions are strange? Quite strange.

You casually dismiss the fact that trump was ALREADY president before? They’re indeed different.

One was never the president. One has ALREADY been president. They are not the same :lol :lol :rollin

Between Democrats and Republicans, the former have more of an incentive to revise the current system and do away with the "first past the post" system, which reps benefit from and which has made the third party vote irrelevant. Democrats also have the track record to prove that if given the chance, they will implement alternative voting systems that give more power to one's vote (see CA, and other blue states with ranked-choice voting), regardless of their political convictions.

Educated voters understand that you have to support those who have the power to make it possible for the third party vote to count in the future.

lol using sport to vote is one of the most man things I’ve ever read. Hilarious that’s where the line is drawn.

It's not sport. It's hatred for transgendered.

Think about the poor white men from the South that didn't own slaves that fought in the Civil War and died for plantation owners. They went out and fought to the death because they didn't like Black people.

C'mon America...

You can do it

I'm done with your shortsighted views. I hope there are other people in your daughter's life looking out for her well-being .
Aye brah, this comment is way out of bounds. I dont give a AF if you don't agree with his reasonings for voting for trump, but who TF are you to question him as a father. That man is looking out for his daughter's well being. Unlike him, politics is your identity. His family is his.

It’s not hatred for transgendered. It’s not wanting biological men to endanger women. It’s really not that hard to understand, but the trans movement is strong.

I’m sorry but this “I have a daughter” and transgender athletes being your biggest concern regarding women’s rights is BS.

I don’t think people should have to use personal examples to justify why they support some things because human empathy should be enough not just direct relation but if we playing that game this what matters most to me when it comes to women’s rights. I have a wife and my biggest fear right now is if she gets pregnant the chances if God forbid some complications happen in the pregnancy that put her life at risk are far greater now with Roe being done away with and the laws Georgia is currently under because of that. Pregnancy is always difficult and hard, black women already have higher maternal mortality rate during child birth in this country and that’s even worse now. I could not live with myself if I did not do everything I could to restore those rights to protect my wife’s health if the worst came to worst during a pregnancy or a future daughters health if we ever had one. If the situation in Georgia now was what it was a few years ago my sister would be gone like some of the women now we seeing in the news everyday cause they live in a state that wouldn’t help them get the procedure they needed to save their life cause the doctors scared of catching a charge. The idea of that horrifies me how on earth could I look someone in the eye who’s life was saved because of the protections Roe lead to regarding pro choice and go “yea that’s cool but trans athletes tho that’s a bigger women’s rights issue I’m concerned with over something that actually directly affects your health choices and life”

**** outta here.

I don’t need to be surrounded with a bunch of like minded believers like myself continuously and have them echo my feeelings and sentiments.
People in this thread disagree on tons of things, regularly. This is the go to excuse for people who come in here either false equivocating both sides-isms or wanting to be able to freely express not well thought at positions at best, or flat out bigotry at worst. This thread doesn’t owe anyone to be treated with kid gloves because of that.

Here yall go with this BS 🙄. Not agreeing with alternative lifestyles is NOT hatred of them. Personally speaking, I have no hatred in my heart for anyone. But at the same time I don't have to accept any trending way of living. People are free to live their own life. But when the so called "trans-rights" affect my life, then I have a problem with that.
