***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Side note I’ll be glad when “woke” is dead and buried in the ground, its lost all meaning now word to “jiminy jillikers”

at this point it means "left wing cultural politics I don't like"

so i think you're gonna be waiting a long time.

it's not like people are going to willingly give you a pejorative way to describe their world view.

Woke, elite, neoliberal, socialism

Words that are thrown around so much, to try to hold filmsy arguments together, that they have lost much of their meaning.

I try to use them according to their original meaning and I notice that it is very rarely do I need to use any of these words. But you see him in political takes, especially bad ones, all the time.

I think the reasonable worry with Hunter is that his actions could form a security threat. He has no role in government but either way it’s not a stretch that he could be vulnerable to blackmail. We don’t know exactly how much information is out there and who has access to it. With all the drug use, maybe even Hunter himself isn’t exactly sure.

Does it stack up to all the issues posed by Trump’s kids? Not in a million years but I don’t think it’s something to just gloss over.

I'm not even going to bother reading anything about Hunter. Hunter is like getting hand sanitizer while trump is the ongoing school shooting.

Unlike the last president, hunter holds no position in the current adminstation

As long as there are no security risks, not sure the issue

literally seen security service sitting right there when multiple bush kids were smoking weed… this was after 9/11 so they all had security service.. George was president and Jeb was governor

there wouldn't be. Papa Biden has been a politician all his life and there wasn't any issue with that. the trumps though are different, even before they entered politics, they are already a security threat.

I agree.

I could see how Hunter using his "allowance" money to engage in potentially illegal behavior in foreign countries could be used to influence his father. After all, the same scrutiny has been applied to Trump and his children regarding their dealings with Russia.

It is still ridiculous that our media gives much more weight to Hunter's personal dealings compared to Trump's kids, who had access to the inner circle of the executive branch and were politically active while they maintained business relationships with China, Russia, and a bunch of countries that don't share American interests.

The state of our media is laughable. The Hunter Biden stuff should be in the tabloid section of papers; none of it is politically relevant, no matter how much Republicans want to scream about it.

Is Newsome poised to make a run at the presidency in 2024? Dude out here with the insulin manufacturing bill now this gun bill...seems like he is trying to get some momentum

Who knew I’d like something this dude would post

I guess it is true what they say about broken clocks

Damn he's 52? Hell are we talking about this dude like he's young and pops still responsible for him. Dude probably has grandkids. He's an old crackhead though, that's wild.

If the allegations of crack use are true, then much of the discussion likely stems from the many crack users who were locked in cages for lengthy sentences due to the crack cocaine vs. powder cocaine sentencing disparity created by the crime bill that his father authored.

I know that the First Step Act has done a good bit to counteract those harsh sentences.

It’s really just a tale of two Americas, if the allegations are true.
