***Official Political Discussion Thread***

I understand his characterization considering that most people predicted how this impeachment trial would end in the Senate before it began.
Yeah, why bother trying to do the right thing if you might fail. That was basically your justification for supporting the Republican Party.

Trumps defense was on :emoji_fire:

Or at least that’s what Hannity told me.
If the glove fit, **** it acquit anyways

Why are people acting like the trial is taking up all the time and attention of Washington? Do people schedule 1 thing to do at work a day?

Trump's attorneys wasted all that time making a video
They could have just walked in, stood at the podium and politely said "He didn't do it" and went and sat back down and kicked their feet up on the desk

The sad part is that it’s because it doesn’t matter what either side did - the broken Rs are going to vote to acquit anyway.

The funny part is that they definitely made things worse than if they hadn’t said anything - and have probably damaged their own reputation in doing so.

I think the Republican reputation is his damages it’s ever going to be, but with that said Republicans don’t care. There’s really nothing to discuss here other than who else co conspired the riots. As I said before, if the Republicans agree that Trump should be held accountable then they too should be held accountable because they either re-tweeted what is that exactly the same thing Trump said. They will not set that precedent to themselves
