Idk about the cold toppings but there's a few pizza spots in Upstate NY that do that cold cheese twist. I tried cold cheese on my slice once...it was ok.

Pizza palace on dyckman was the first “hole in the wall” spot I tried when I first visited nyc. It was . Tried out lombardis and it wasn’t all that imo. I liked prince street pizza better. Any other recommendations for when I go back? Usually stay in tribeca and hunts point area when visiting out there.

i go back and forth between chicago deep dish and a new york slice..... its just something about that new york slice tho... the taste of a quality slice and the convenience of being able to eat it on the go
