It's funny coming from him when he hasn't done anything worth a damn in the league except cashing checks since he left Pitt

Ohio would be first state to let those at risk of CTE use medical marijuana

Supporters of the new push to legalize medical marijuana in Ohio have added several new medical conditions to a proposed constitutional amendment, including chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE.
That's the brain disease that's increasingly found in football players, especially those that play the sport for a long time.

The Buckeye State – known perhaps for football more than anything else – would be the first state to allow marijuana as treatment for those at risk of CTE, according to the Marijuana Policy Project, the group that introduced the amendment this month.

On Tuesday a top NFL official acknowledged a link to repeated head trauma from football to the brain disease. It was the first time the league connected the two, although medical professionals have often pointed it out. A Harvard professor believes the NFL should fund a study regarding whether marijuana can treat or prevent CTE, ProFootballTalk.com reports. There currently is no definitive test for CTE while people are alive, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The Washington, D.C. group included new debilitating medical conditions in a recent submission of its ballot language to the Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's office. The AG denied the group's first draft on Friday, citing three defects.

Marijuana Policy Project and its state-based committee, Ohioans for Medical Marijuana, said its new language addresses those issues. It also includes several new medical conditions not originally included, like autism with aggressive or self-harming behaviors, Parkinson's disease, sickle cell anemia, severe fibromyalgia and post-concussion syndrome.

If approved by the state, MPP will start gathering the nearly 306,000 signatures it needs by July to put the amendment on the November ballot. The group's plan calls for 15 large-scale cultivation licenses and uncapped licenses for smaller-scale growers. Medical patients with serious diseases could get marijuana at dispensaries with physician approval.

Josh Gordon probably approves
