someone change the Bert Bell to the Taco Bell Award."Simply off stats."
Please tell me what he's lacking in his career to not be labeled the best WR of all-time.
I'll wait.
and well see how long goes unnoticed

Jerry Rice is the only player in Pro sports that can be proclaimed the best simply off stats. No one applies this logic to any other player or position. Why is that?
Favre best QB? Karl Malone best basketball player? That logic doesn't hold up.

I'm a Skins fan and always believed Irvin was better then Rice.
Irvin was vocal and emotional leader of those Cowboys teams. His college career makes up for the gap in numbers between himself and Rice on the pro level. Irvin had a better body of work as a WR college and pro.
Why not, because Rice played longer? That's the only advantage he has. Rice even had the better pro QB.

Not one person in here has taken on my Gale Sayers point. Why, because the logic doesn't work. Everyone disregarded Irvin played with the leagues all time leading rusher and a inferior QB.
I'll ask again how many who proclaims Rice is the best believe the same about Emmit or Favre? If you don't why not?

Michael Irvin's college stats: 147 receptions, 2430 yards, 27 TDs
Jerry Rice's college stats: 271 receptions, 4256 yards, 48 TDs
Huh.
We really comparing Irvins U stats to Rice's stats at Mississippi Valley State?

Please stop deflecting, I've responded to you numerous times and even @'d you.
There is literally no measure anywhere... other than winning a National Championship... that Michael Irvin is even in the same stratosphere as Jerry Rice.
First 12 years.
Any year during their first 12 years.
Collegiate stats.
Pro stats.
Awards.
Nothing.
So please, explain yourself.
(also, BTW, Peyton Manning has shattered most of Brett's records so you may want to change the name up that you're using in your deflections)
In college you have to take into account the competition. It's not close between the 2. Irvin did that against the best teams in the country. You guys aren't telling the whole story. Leaving key info out to make points.
Collector , did you see Jerry and Michael play?
Collector , did you see Jerry and Michael play?
Yes. One played with Montana in the WC offense and the other had Troy in a run heavy offense. Rice played 8 more years. Rices numbers will def be better. On that field though in 3rd and 10 needing a 1st down I'd rather have Mike in my foxhole then Rice.
Collector , did you see Jerry and Michael play?
Yes.
Michael Irvin played 12 years. 11904 receiving yards, 65 TDs.
Compare them to the first 12 years of Jerry Rice's career. 16377 yards, 154 TDs.
You were saying?
