Michael Irvin played 12 years. 11904 receiving yards, 65 TDs.

Compare them to the first 12 years of Jerry Rice's career. 16377 yards, 154 TDs.

You were saying?

Emmit Smith IS THE ALL TIME LEADING RUSHER. Why can't people accept Mikes offense was run heavy and explains the gap. Dallas was a RUN FIRST OFFENSE. It was traditional. The WC offense was similar to when RG3 came in and took the league by surprise.

Why was he still catching 90+ passes at 40 years old? Surely the league would have figured him out by then.

Fact check…………….. :lol

John Randle played with Randy 3 years. Ages 31-33
Randall McDaniel, two years. Ages 34-35
Carter played 4 years with him, ages 33-37

Jerry Rice played with

Ronnie Lott, 6 years. Lott had 2 SB’s before Rice got there. Same as…..
Joe Montana, 6 years, who was then replaced by Steve Young, and Jerry played with him the rest of Steve’s career thru 1999. Meaning, from 1985, to 1999, Jerry played with a HOF QB.
Charles Haley, 6 years.
The start of said career, guided by Bill Walsh. Who then handed it off to his assistant Seifert, who went on to win a couple Super Bowls himself. (with all this HOF talent)

Fred Dean was also there in 1985, he too is a HOFer, but I didn’t even know that. I don’t even know who he is. :lol I thought Craig and Sapolu were both in, I was wrong. Craig is on a wait list, Sapolu is only a member of 4 of their SB’s, but not a HOFer.

I didn’t even mention Dwight Clark or John Taylor, 2 guys that won or got them to Super Bowls. Clark with The Catch, and Taylor the game winner vs Cincy. Or Ricky Watters and his SB performance.

So, fact check, I apologize for typing off the cuff, and being wrong on Craig and Sapolu, but technically forgetting Dean. The shame my family must now feel. :{

To recap, Jerry played with Joe, Young, Lott, Hayley, Craig, Watters, Taylor, etc thru the prime of their careers.

You pointed out 3 guys, that Randy played 2 years with all of them on the roster, at the ends of their careers. And you want to make that the same thing, based on me technically not having 2 of the players properly listed? (not to mention Craig can still get in at some point)

He's a all time great player. Never said he wasn't. I'd rather have Irvin. Like I said before and to this point have been proven right. Not one person will make a case based of career totals for any other player then Rice.

I'm asking you directly right now who's the best RB and QB of all time in your opinion?

"have been proven right."

No. Nothing you have said has been proven right. Not a single thing. You even tried to use Robert Griffin the 3rd in one of your laughable defenses.

Tim Tebow is the best QB of all time based on his collegiate accolades.

Walter Payton is the best RB of all time.

Your making jokes. You guys are so reliant on career totals and numbers players like Jim Brown would be considered a bum.

If my fellow members would be objective then the offenses they ran, players they played with and 8 extra years service would be taken into account. Mike was the KING of converting 3rd downs. Defenses couldn't stop the guy. I legit don't get how folk can watch the two play and say Rice is strait up better then playmaker.

Fun fact of the Day: if you only use the first 12 years of Jerry Rice's career, he'd still be the all-time leader in receiving yards (16377) and only two TD's shy of Randy Moss (154).

Yeah that 49er west coast offense was nothing like RG3 zone read pistol offense

I don't care if The Collector calls me out and flames me for the following statement or not, but......

I would put Michael Irvin in Chad Johnson's category before I put him in Jerry Rice's.  To me, that is a much better comparison.

What's funny is beside the titles Fran Tarkenton and Vinny T are both better then Montana in every category of passing. Who here believes they are? Ha ha ha

More yards, TDs and pass completions.

"Besides the multiple titles, Super Bowl MVPs, and MVPs, those guys are better."

Trying to compare WRs the same way you compare QBs. Ha ha ha.

Montana was a 2x MVP and a 5x All Pro.

Impeccable comparison!!!

So only awards matter? What happen to all the yards and TD stats being thrown at me? You guys logic is flawed. Montana is the example.

Yo is this dude slow? :lol

I can't even. Yall been going in circles with him for three pages now. :lol

Jerry Rice has more awards and accolades than Michael Irvin by a truckload.
He has better stats than Michael Irvin by a truckload.
If you lop off half of his career it still dwarfs Michael Irvin's by a truckload.

None of that matters because of a west coast offense, 3rd downs, and a collegiate national championship.

I'm really glad that I'm bored as hell at work this afternoon because this is the worst argument in NT history... and that says something.

Just like CP said earlier team accomplishments are dependent on various factors. QBs don't play defense.

Based off purely on field STATS those QBs are better then Montana.

How does a person factor in stats and titles? Is SB wins the number 1 criteria? Numbers? How many pass yards and TDs does 1 SB account for?

I think Torry Holt might have been better than Bruce despite Bruce playing a little bit longer. Pretty close at least. The string of seasons those two put up together :x

If you bring up both their career stats in separate windows and look at them at the same time on pro football reference, it's a lot of fun to look at.
