OFFICIAL LAKERS 2009/2010 (57-25) 2009-2010 CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!

Does anyone know how to contact the Lakers by E-mail?

The reason for this is because I got asked to participate in the Big Shot Jackpot Contest during the Lakers - Kings game.

For anyone who didnt attend that game: I badly airballed the first one because the ball was soo slippery and I think my nerves got a little in the way

. I did nail the 3-pointer and won 2 nights at the Mirage Hotel in Vegas.

The only footage I have is my girl taping the shot with our digital camera, but Im sure any other footage must exist. I want to contact the Lakers to ask ifthere is anyway to get hold of the footage.

For those who are interested, I can upload the footage that I have right now.

We're the worst 27-6 team in the NBA.
Ron's still alive. He actually came on the court and was shooting around with Luke early before the Lakers took the court.

From L.A.'s PR department:

Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol, who suffered an injury to his left hamstring in last night's game against the Dallas Mavericks, was examined today by team physician Dr. Steve Lombardo.

Results of an ultrasound test and an MRI show that Gasol has a mild-to-moderate strain of the left hamstring. His status for tomorrow's game against the Houston Rockets is doubtful and he shall be listed as day-to-day beyond that.

Artest back....Pau out

Bynum better get back to the way he played earlier this season

I don't think it's a coincidence that Bynum played a lot better with Pau out. He just been looking lost when Gasol has been out there. I hope Pau'sinjury doesn't keep him out too long.

Who knows, maybe it'll be a good thing to have these guys miss a few games here and there to keep the mileage down for the postseason.

Least......that's how I hope it plays out.

I don't understand how Bynum is not effective while Pau is in there. Maybe because they both clog the lane? Bynum just needs to develop some more postmoves and he should be good. Ron Ron back?

its understandable that bynum is not effective playing with pau, pau gets more touches than bynum and when he gets the double team he will kick itout and the shooter will shoot it most of the time..

maybe phil should try to start lamar instead of bynum, at least against small centers because when he plays with the 2nd unit (bynum) the balls goes to himmost of the time.

I guess. At one point Tayshaun was listed as day to day for the Pistons, and it took him an extra 2 weeks.

Nah, kill that freaking noise. Kobe hurt his finger in the regular season of '08, played throug the season, played in the playoffs, played in the Finals, played in the Olympics, played the '08-'09 season, played in the playoffs, played in the Finals (won MVP), and THEN had it looked at... and no stonefaces from any of you.

I remember many a Laker fan calling for Kobe to get surgery after playing poorly immediately after the injury. Then, like now, Kobe's improved play afteradjusting to the injury quelled most of the calls for him to take care of the finger.

What did you mean by, "...and THEN had it looked at...."? He had his finger examined by a specialist shortly after the injury.

And I don't even want to hear 'Oh, it's because Kobe didn't miss any time.' Look, when you decide to play ball in the summer despite being injured, you don't know if it's going to cost you time or hurt your performace later. If you're praising Kobe for being a G for playing through pain in the summer, why not praise Pau just the same?
+1 for CP's response to this claim. I'll add that it was Kobe's first and possibly onlyOlympic games whereas Pau has represented for his country plenty of times.

Like many fans, I want these guys to see these guys at their best for the Lakers. I understand why Pau played, but I would have preferred he get rest for theseason. Then again, we don't know for sure that rest would have prevented these injuries. Maybe it's just a little bad luck that'll get him somerest.

Regarding Bynum's poor play with Pau and their offensive woes, the Lakers just aren't moving the ball or off the ball well. I still can't imaginehow good their offense would be if they could run it the way the Bulls did in their heyday. The numbers (FG%, APG, PPG) don't seem all that different, butI remember those Bulls teams getting more easy shots in their half court sets. I don't know if these Lakers don't have enough time together andexperience with the offense, if they're just poor passers, or if the black hole that is Kobe's hands keeps the ball from moving (not stating heisn't a willing passer, just that his teammates look for him too often).

Who knows? Maybe Bynum isn't motivated by being a role player.

I'm happy the Lakers beat the Mavs because I was worried that the Lakers were going to have a Cavs-esque record against the elite teams this year.

Honestly the way people on here have been comparing Pau's hamstring injuries to Kobe's finger injuries is not a very realistic comparison. A hamstringinjury isnt something an athlete especially a basketball player can just play through. Remember and just think about the 89 finals when Magic & Byron Scottpulled their hamstrings. So I really don't get how some people on here want to see Pau man up and be a G and play through the injury like Kobe has with hisfinger injuries. We still don't really know how serious the injury is and how long it will take for Pau to get back to 100% or close enough. If it's asserious as the first hamstring injury during pre season & the start of this season then Pau & the coaching staff should play it the same way and notrush him back.

The Lakers got a pretty tough schedule this month with that 8 game road trip starting at the end of this month, but I think the Lakers will be fine and stillplay good enough to maintain the best record in the league. When injuries like these happen to the front court LO usually steps into the starting lineup andplays his best basketball. LO seriously starts to go work and is a beast on the glass and averages a double double while putting something like 15 to 17 pointsa game. That's at least what I remember the past 2 seasons when he LO was put into the starting lineup because Drew went down with his knee injuries. Letsjust say worse case scenario Pau is out for 3 to 4 weeks because of his injury, if the Lakers comeback from that road trip 8-0, 7-1, or 6-2 while they playsome dominating basketball like they did last year on that long road trip, this will send a serious message to everyone around the league, to the critics,Laker fans on here doubting the Lakers will repeat this season, all the Laker haters, and the media. Also if they do that well on that road trip and Kobe keepsplaying like he has this season he will no doubt lock up his 2nd regular season MVP award.
Pau Gasol's injury is a new strain for Lakers
If it feels as if the Lakers have been here before, it's because they have.

The Pau Gasol hamstring watch began its second engagement Monday when the Lakers forward-center was deemed doubtful for tonight's game against the Houston Rockets because of a mild to moderate strain in his left hamstring.

If Lakers followers sighed, it was understandable, seeing how Gasol sat out the first 11 games of the season because of a strained right hamstring that was similarly labeled day to day but dragged on for almost six weeks and included two attempts to practice followed by flare-ups, and setbacks, the next day.

A little more than six weeks after returning, Gasol checked out of Sunday's game after seven minutes against Dallas and checked in to see team doctor Steve Lombardo on Monday morning.

Results of an ultrasound and MRI exam showed the strain, one of many injury-news items Monday. (Quick recap: Ron Artest went through a full practice and will probably play tonight if he feels fine this morning, Luke Walton went through a limited part of practice and won't play until later this week at the earliest, and Lamar Odom missed practice because of intestinal flu symptoms but will probably play tonight.)

Hamstrings have become a major issue for the 29-year-old Gasol, who just signed a three-year, $57-million extension that would keep him under contract through 2013-14.

"I don't know what we can do," Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said. "He never felt any unusual sensations or regulation in his running [before Sunday's game]. Warmed up and stretched the normal way he does. It was just something very unusual.

"We'll have to do much more intensive research on this now. It's not related to exercise or an activity that creates this."

Gasol was not available to reporters Monday, and Jackson was coy when asked how Gasol was injured.

"It happened before the game in a very unusual way and I'll let Pau explain that to you when you see him," Jackson said. "You have to ask him. He told me the story, so I'm just expecting him to tell you."

There's not much to it. Gasol apparently felt a twinge in his hamstring while jumping up and down to get loose a few minutes before the game.

Then he tried to play.

"There have been many times that Pau has said that he'll feel a little hang-up in his hamstrings during the course of the year," Jackson said. "When he said it at this juncture before the game, we said, 'Well, we'll see how he goes at the start' as we normally do."

Gasol had six points and two rebounds before leaving. He is averaging 16.8 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists.

As Gasol exits for at least tonight's game ("doubtful" in Lakers medical jargon often means "out"), Artest will probably return after missing five games because of a concussion.

Artest went through an entire practice Monday with contact, had no complaints and will be reevaluated after this morning's shoot-around.

"It felt really good," Artest said. "It's up to Phil. I don't want to put words in his mouth."

Jackson said, "We sure want him in there."

In addition to a concussion, Artest had four staples in the back of his head and about seven stitches in his left elbow because of lacerations from what he said was a fall at his home on Christmas.

"I felt like I've got to get back in shape, but that's like everybody," Artest said. "You know, you're out for a while and you come back and you're not in shape. It's not like I'm the first person it's happened to."

If Odom comes back healthy after a one-day absence, the Lakers' frontcourt tonight will probably be Andrew Bynum, Artest and Odom.

At the end of a long medical day, there was Walton, who participated in non-contact parts of practice and hoped to take part in a full practice Thursday after being out almost eight weeks because of a pinched nerve in his back.

"The worst part was obviously the conditioning and my legs from not playing in five, six weeks, however long it's been, but my back felt really good," Walton said.

Etc.

Jackson seemed to long for Artest's return: "The one thing you can really count on Ron for is that he's going to give you a one-on-one effort against a scorer probably better than anybody else can do in the league right now," he said. . . . Would Kobe Bryant put up more shots if Gasol missed an extended period? "More than I've been already?" he said with a smile. "I'll go out and play and do my usual."

that last part is a good point, Kobe prolly the one tweakin onPau's hammy's so he can get some more shots up.

Eh, we all know it's a long season, guys gonna have moments, Ron got a week off after Christmas, Pau gonna take a second vacation, Luke baskin in the glowof doin nothin, that's how regular folk do it I guess. Bynum should be missing a few weeks here anytime now, I suspect once Pau is ready to get back.

The only ones who never miss time are Kobe and Fish. *knocks on wood desk right now*

At least this is a different Hammy then the one Pau was bothered by earlier in the year. So they know how to work it, rest it, relax it whatever, and thenhe'll be ready for the long road trip where the Lakers usually get themselves playin on the same page.

All that said, we are the worst 27-6 team in the NBA.

Must have eaten some of those Jack in the Box free tacos on Sunday night.

He should play today, unless he still had the runs
