***Official Breakfast Club Interview Thread***

Hot 97 morning show interviews >>>>>_______

pure comedy and true knowledge of the artist AND history... point blank

You mean Ebro Hour? nope.. not touching the Breakfast club.. although Rosenberg's knowledge of hip hop is one tier below Questlove and DJ Premier

... ummmmm Ebro has more history and knowledge than Peter and lets not talk about Cipha... hes quiet but his underground / indie to major label grind and hustle is well documented...

that juan epstein podcast they have is very special...

breakfast club does nothing but COPY the questions from angie and Hot 97 morning show...

look at some of the interviews back to back and it'll shock ya'....

straight leeches

Is this a joke?

Cypher has more knowledge of hip hop, because he was actually there and actually did not, and not telling what his brother said.

Copy questions?

A lot of the questions are obvious and ones the publicist/manager wants them to ask

nah, the other questions....

randon questions that go down another route that no one thought of... the next day BC somehow asks the same type of question to get the same response...

Hot-nine did it first...

ive been recording and listening to radio interviews since Hot 97 was dance radio... (yeah i was born in 81)....

they cant be out done... their on air personalities are just too woven into the culture for BC to ever ask mind blowing questions that havent been asked by Hot-Nine already...

Normally artist go to Power before BC or do them the same day.

And some publicist/managers sometimes give stations questions...regardless of how random you think they are.

How do they steal questions if artist do all the interviews the same day, and rosenbergs "the realness" is straight jacking donkey of the day

Yeah Sways one of the few people's who is able to ask the questions that fans most want asked, somehow without offending artists or stepping over boundaries.

It's why he's one of the most respected interviewers in the game.

Off topic but Sway gotta be one of the most likeable guys in media, he's like Snoop for Radio/TV

Sway is pretty good, but he also can ask those questions because he has Sirius and MTV behind him.

They can't be but so upset at him. Dude has 20 years of connections in the business. He is an institution in hip hop at this point.

its shifted...

Hot catches them earlier now..

and yes... i know they have a list of questions that have to be asked...

hot does not have to ask those exact question especally if they are a single outlet in the city from Emmis

BC is clear channel communication so their lines are more defined on what can happen and what can't for the betterment of the CCC movement within NYC...

and ebro doesn't have that leverage?... not saying that you said he didnt, just comparing...

sure sway has the backing and damn near a media darling BUT Hot 97 millions trump BC ratings...

money talks.

whoever is getting the most bread in the town is who's running the lot...

What?

I've been involved in radio b

And a lot of the reason they might go on Hot 97 first, is because TBC is number one and artist often give them longer interviews.

TBC morning show beats Hot 97...why do you think Ebro showed up, he tried to ***** up K Foxx and they started posting video content on Youtube.

And Ebro isn't close to Sway. He's a program director...someone who should be behind the scenes. Program directors are replaced all the time. He's tried to turn himself in to a brand like Charlamagne with VH-1/Mona Scott and appearing on TV...he's doing it because it's a last ditch effort. If it stayed that way it was going with Rosenberg and Cyph, he would be out the door.

Sway is national.

And you do realize TBC is syndicated, right? They're on like 50 something stations, some daily and some on the weekend.

Hot 97 will always be a staple right now. But to completely honest the slipping as the pulse of the city.

Breakfast Club is akin to what hot 97 was when they had miss jones and one of the G.O.A.Ts star. There

not quite at that level but its hard to be now because jobs will be lost

Who the **** is August Alsina?

Another example of doing an interview too early in an artist career or the artist is no longer relevant

Breakfast club is becoming infamous for this

In example ( Trinidad James, any Nelly interview at this point, Young Dro, Tiara Thomas, Mack Wilds, and the list goes on)

Sway does conduct better interviews but artists open up more to the Breakfast club because its 3 individuals posing the tough questions, rather than just 1 person

The last 3-4 minutes of that August Alsina interview had me in tears bruh

I remember I met Sway at Flight Club last fall. Cool dude.

peace...

this debate can go on for years...

always a power struggle in nyc on urban radio

im a loyalist of hot...

BC is growing by the day but being likable and across the map doesnt mean its number one across the map...

ratings in nyc, HOT been lost that with Star..simple, we all can agree...

but dollar / Ads wise, HOT is still winning...

but we can agree to disagree.
