Official Bitcoin Thread

Over 25k...less than 100k.

Tip - think before cashing out, do you really need the fiat/paper money? Will you be ok if you send ur btc to bitpay and load their visa for all ur purchases? You can load up to 25k, and they limit u 10k daily for purchases.

Just an alternative than having to “cash out”. Ive used bitpay for the times i wanted to take profits...food, travel, shopping, etc. think about it..good luck

More info on this? Does bitpay take a cut? Is teh card like a regular Visa that can be used anywhere? Possible to just take cash out of the card (like "do you want cash back" at the grocery store or an ATM)?

Get in on this ADA..... i just looked and up an ATH @ 10 cents lol

Instead of this childish banter, how high do you guys think the market cap of bitcoin and in total, all cryptocurrencies will go by the end of next year?

If i was in this thread in 2014 i would be kicking myself right now. Your questions sound like every other crypto Newb to be honest, Its pointless to try to guess these numbers, when i purchased bitcoin at 1600 i never thought it would pass 6000 by Jan and look where we are now.

Bitpay im sure takes a small cut for the transaction but minimal. To get the card, it does cost $10 one time fee.

As for Visa question...yes, u can use anywhere visa is accepted. You receive a PIN upon activation, and yes...u can use on any atm and withdraw cash. Like i mentioned, its 10k dailly...of course atms have daily limits as well.

My biggest issue with this thread has been the same since it started, new people coming in here completely clueless and spending money blindly without doing any research.

That and you can tell half these guys didn't even take the time to read this thread, 253pages of info that could change your life but instead ask questions that have already been answered.

funny thing is this same thing happens in the stock market everyday, most people's retirement is built on just this.

My issue with the thread isnt the hate but people feeling that bc they dont understand something it is wrong or will draw comparisons to other bad experiences. Their is risk in this and anything else you invest in but to think that this market works the same way the NYSE does or NASDAQ is tough bc they are not the same by any means

Man this is going to be an accounting nightmare come tax time because of cashing out, daytrading, shift/bitpay cards purchases.

Thanks for the reply. That is the biggest concern some of my coworkers have "how do you actually get the money out though?"

How can yoiu get taxed on bitcoins and stuff? Ain't this suppose to be unanimous stuff? Black market.. lol

Smh so Wells Fargo was the one blocking my card from going through. Oh well I did it through my savings acct instead just a delay unfortunately until next week.

Lawrd all these new ppl asking to guided to the promise land... :lol

Y'all better start learning the ropes for yourselves. Asking what to invest in is not the way to go...

I will say this again, do not invest for the value of the coin...invest in the technology behind the block chain.

I don't have any issues with Wells Fargo...Do you have a standard bank account?

Yea checking and savings. I was trying to do the instant buy through coinbase yesterday but it wouldn't take my debit card. I used my savings account instead. Got a fraud protection alert from WF and had to call them to get my card back activated.

My first thought when I saw it on the cover of one of the papers out here was to hold off for the impending dip to buy in. There's no way it gains this much popularity in such short time and doesn't drop significantly.

Expecting a dip similar to what happened in October.

IS 200 good to start with bitcoin?

Of course. I wish I listened to my friend who told me to just buy a little bit of Bitcoin every paycheck a couple years ago. I had 10 when it was around $125 and sold when it got to $1000. Kicking myself everyday, but I’m starting to get back in and just buying some of each (BTC, ETH, and LTC).

Im not beyond researching... but the thread is 253 pages and this is my first day entering the thread.

I read the last 3 pages and including this one... im assuming alot of the pages are yall airing grievances or speaking from a expert POV that would be foreign to a newbie.

Im just looking for a point in the right direction. Info that wont waste my time and not be discouraging.

If thats not the temperament of this thread. i would appreciate that feedback as well. No biggie.

These profits would fall under "Capital Gains Tax" Your pretty much responsible for filing your own taxes at the moment, so its more of an honor system until gov regulators get on board.

We'll have to keep quoting the above post when someone asks how to start getting into this.

Also you guys can go to youtube. Plenty of videos. You're right no one is trying to read 200+ pages

An auto scroll for pages and a way to bookmark posts would be helpful on NT.
Especially since OP is living on an island somewhere lol
