I asked my folks this question the other day.

I said Dame is currently the most bulletProof NBA player.

Rarely do I hear folks have anything negative to say about him.

But, they ALWAYS turn on you. His time is coming.

Dame does a lot of (what could be perceived to be as) whining.

Folks will turn on him soon.
Especially after his little moment with Skip. He’s a 7 year veteran and he’s managed to escape serious criticism which is impressive I guess. But like you said, they will turn on him.

I mean, the Fat White Man from Alabama sitting on his couch eating pizza doesn't know who Dame is yet. Once he reaches that level, he will open himself up to more negative feedback.

He is still anonymous to those that don't follow the sport.

But he is a little dude, with heart, that ALWAYS puts his city on. Usually, those dudes get love from the hood.

I think there is a LOT of stress (mentally/physically) that has been removed from this Incubation BAsketball Model. How players respond to stress is part of the formula that makes them who they are.
If so many external forces have been removed, I just can't view it as anything close to the real thing.

But, It has been entertaining.

Good points, but also, it’s something different that hasn’t been done before. Those players are used to all those outside factors. Currently, it’s really just straight up basketball and nothing else, probably the most even field possible. Only thing that feels the same is some shoddy officiating.

I think this is the case cause since his time in Portland, he (well, Portland in general) has never been truly expected to do anything other than put up a nice fight, and that’s it. He’s currently living off of 3 game winners, and a nice 8+ game stretch in the bubble. Also, with players like Lebron, Harden, KD, pre-injury Wall, CP3, Westbrook, Giannis, probably Blake, etc, there’s so many guys that are more lightning rods than him, and as long as those teams are better than Portland, that’s how it’ll be for Dame. He’ll have to consistently be on a top 3 team to really resonate to the point of really having expectations.

he already did get ripped by the masses when he was whining on twitter about not being selected to be an all star earlier in his career.

If we were to go forward with a Bubble for the rest of life I feel like you can't compare any of those statistics nor results to the seasons before the Bubble. I think that's fair honestly

I was going to bring this up in response to one of your earlier posts. Everyone wants fans back in arenas but I don’t know how quickly that will happen or the initial capacity level when it does. But are you essentially saying that you’re going to side-eye all accomplishments that aren’t achieved under pre-pandemic conditions (ie regular arenas with fans)?

It would be a dramatic shift but it we’ve seen them in the past. In theory, it would just be a new era where an aspect of the game was changed but interestingly it would be a more intangible change in comparison to something like the addition/modification of the 3-point line.

If so many external forces have been removed, I just can't view it as anything close to the real thing.

What do you mean by “the real thing”? Is what we’re watching considered “fake hoops”? Travel, fans and home court determine the authenticity of professional basketball?

In the event that The Bubble would be the way the league functioned going forward:

You can't compare Pre-Bubble to Bubble. They just are completely different circumstances and environments. That's all I'm saying. I wouldn't necessarily say Bubble is inferior you just can't compare apples to apples

APB on a missing persons report: Oladipo, Victor

Mans is on that Gordon Hayward trajectory.

I came for the upset slander and the theead did not disappoint :pimp:

87-81 Lakers up w/ 7 mins left & they either didn’t execute, or didn’t finish. AD was floating on the perimeter, AD/Bron 4 straight misses at the line, some comically awful KCP finishes & wide open Danny Green misses. That’s about as bad as the Lakers are going to play down the stretch, great on Portland for capitalizing. Game was night & day from how focused LA was in closing out the Bucks & Clippers games back to back just before the shutdown. Disciplined mismatch hunting. AD in the paint. You have to imagine they’ll get back to that.

One thing to keep an eye on in G2 is Portland making a concerted effort to attack Kuz more often, especially late. Melo got that late 3 after a Dame pnr where Kuz was in drop  then Gary Trent got one a little later after Dame got Kuz on the switch & the Lakers trapped

Blazers in fo. Its inevitable
