I always said if anybody were to come close to breaking 70 points again... It would be Harden, Durant, or Klay (ever since 37 in 1 quarter)

But I'm seeing a lot of Kobes name being brought up for comparison. All I gotta say is it's no comparison. Klay still had 2 of the most efficient shooters and scorers on the floor with him.

Which means guys still had to cover them and not leave them open.

Kobe on the other hand was the ONLY scorer on his team. Which means teams were able to double, triple team him because there was nobody else that could score.

When Kobe scored 81, 62 in 3, hell even when he scored 56 in 3 against Memphis. He was the only scorer on his team. Yet he found away to get his shot off and score. I remember Kobe dropping 55 in ONE HALF!

I know Kobe is retired so he's forgotten now. But let's not get carried away!

this thread turned into Kobe appreciation night

thanks Klay

:lol :rollin

But I'll be honest though, this is one of most exciting seasons.

What Westbrook is doing is much more impressive than anything else this season!

6 straight triple doubles? AVERAGING a triple double? From a 6'3 Guard? :x

Paging @JD617

Aside from Game 6 in OKC, I stay missing when Klay blacks out like this.

What are the craziest scoring performances you've seen in your life? This has to be up there.

Craziest scoring performances of my lifetime

1. Kobe 81
2. Klay 60 in under 30 mins
3. Kobe outscoring the mavs by himself after 3 qs
4. Klay 37 in one quarter
5. Brandon Jennings 55 points as a rookie

Not in order and I'm willing to remove 5

if this is the case, Jordan scoring 63 against the eventual champion, best defense in the league celtics and one of the best teams of all time is greater than maybe any other scoring feat including wilt scoring 100.

Also David Robinson winning the scoring title is one of the GOAT NBA scoring stories.

- David Robinson getting 71 on the final day of the 1993-94 season to clinch the scoring title away from Shaq, although this is to be taken with a pinch of Russell Westbrook's rebounding numbers because his teammates were doing nothing but feeding him the ball.

- T-Mac with that game where he hit like 4 3 pointers in a row in the last 30 seconds to win it

- Paul Pierce in the early 00s had a game where he had 2 points in the first half, but then exploded for 46 points in the second half and OT:

- Stephen Curry OT record for playoffs or regular season against the Blazers last season

- Shaq dropping 61 on the Clippers on his birthday

- Antawn Jamison back to back 51 point games in 2000-01

Hard to disagree w/ what Bill Simmons tweeted...for the sake of making history, I think it would have been cool to see Klay stay in the game and at least play some of the 4th. As amazing as his performance was, we're now left with a lot of questions as to how many points he would have finished the night with...

Kobe's 4 fame streak of 50+ or 60+ points!

Kobe averaging 40+ for an entire month was bananas too!

Curry's 13 threes the other week was dope as hell too man.

Klay blacked out!!!! I just woke up and saw all of the alerts on my phone :x

If I actually watched that David Robinson game live it would have made my list.

That TMAC game was against the Spurs. I watched that... That could go on there also.

I forgot about some of these games too, good looks.

"Klay Thompson dropped 60 points in 29 minutes. 60 minus 29 is 31. The Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals"

This meme will be funny forever man.

Shoulda kept Klay in , I wanted to see him get at least 70 pts

And why is Luke Walton refusing to start Clarkson and/or Lou will right now ? I know they good off the bench but damn every body hurt and the starters is straight sinkin em nightly right now :lol :{ ...even dudes like Crawford n gonobili get the start when there are injuries in the lineup

That would be so disrespectful to the Pacers. Up 30 going for records?
