Lakers still don't have a franchise player IMO.

Another high draft pick won't hurt them
Making the 8th seed will do more than losing on purpose for another season. Can't do that weak **** every year.

Exactly.

Ingram is fine but he doesn't project to be a franchise player. Is it possible he develops into one? Sure but there are still multiple things about his game that need work and he has time on his side but right now Randle and D'Lo are the only ones who look like franchise cornerstones.

If they could add Fultz/Jackson/Tatum/Isaac/Giles, their future looks significantly brighter, Fultz specifically obviously.

The Nets just released former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett and will sign Quincy Acy to a 10-day deal to replace him, ESPN sources say

Bennett looks like he's near the end. Brooklyn has the most depressing, unimpressive, uninspiring roster in the league & they don't want him.

I've **** on Brooks as a coach probably more than any other coach in the NBA sans Byron Scott but the guy is GREAT with players themselves.

Wall/Beal/Porter have played amazing so far under his guidance.

He's still bad at in game adjustments and finding good rotations but Whitman was bad at everything.

Honestly, Brooks has been nothing short of fantastic this year.

I think his time away from the game really helped. He's been handcuffed due to the bench, so he's had no choice but to be creative with the rotations/lineups.

In comparison, Brooks looks like Popovich with all these guys went through under Wittman

Like you said...career years for Wall/Beal/Porter...even Gortat. Not to mention Oubre stepping up. Brooks' M.O. as a player developer is really true. Never in a million years under Wittman would a guy like Sheldon McClellan get burn. Dude is even starting to take minutes from Marcus Thornton, which is LONG overdue.

Anthony Bennett might legitimately be the biggest bust ever. :smh:

Sad for dude, I really like him coming out, not #1 overall liked him but thought he had a chance to be great with his wingspan/athleticism + what seemed to be a good skillset.

After the whole Cleveland situation, he just seemed like he lost all his confidence as a player.

.
Blessing in disguise. Same thing happened in OKC when Maynor went down & he had no choice but to let Harden be the backup point.

Probably wouldn't hurt to tank and get another top three pick, but the risk of losing it to the Sixers makes it tricky.

Oubre going to be good, he just has to put on more weight because he has the wingspan to play small ball 4.

That would really unlock the Wiz offense, playing truly 4 out with Gortat screening.

Wall with that much space will be devastating.

I like Kief is better off the bench, let him get more usage in the second unit.

how many top 3 picks does one team need? honestly? Look at cleveland? They had 3 of them and still werent ****. Wasnt til bron and love went that changed everything.

d'lo was 2

BI was 2

hell, Jewels was 7

So 2 top 3 players and a top 10 player. 1 more top 3 player would have a marginal effect. diminishing returns. Plus you're talking about hella youngins. Just let these boys cook. Build up their skill set and value and then unload them later if you want.

You can't compare the cavs. they were a mess inside and out.

OKC built over the draft.
GSW did not have anything lower than 7 I believe (which is crazy)

The point is that they can continue building over the draft. If you have the chance of nabbing a top 3 pick ina deep draft vs playing for 8th seed and not getting it + losing your pick to the sixers, which option would you choose? If the sixers did not have that pick, people will be thinking differently.

That being said, keep on winning Lakers! and give us Tatum/ Monk :smokin

If the top talent in every single draft was equal, then I'd agree with you. But some drafts are stronger than others.

A top 3 pick in this draft will yield the best prospect the Lakers have had in these last 3 seasons. Even moreso than Ingram who has the most upside.

Randle looks like an above average starter PF, maybe more if he can keep up his intensity up and improve his jump shot in any capacity.

Russell could be a fringe All Star caliber PG (think Conley, Holiday, Lowry level).

Ingram, who the hell knows.

Nance and Clarkson are contributing bench players, stop gap starters.

Russ shooting 36% from 3 for the last month. :nerd:

If he could ever stop being a horrible 3pt shooter he breaks the game.
