Can't really say all this when its a fact that the nuggets are playing better right now and the knicks play against plenty of bs teams which they lose to...Denver is just simply taking care of business..but u are right about stop talking bout the nuggets tho, this is a knicks thread

Sort of off topic, but very pertinent, but how can we hijack PHX medical staff? Thinking ahead, Amar'e will need that kind of voodoo to stay afloat.

Mike makes 0 in game adjustments & pretty much says "let it ride." We need size, point blank period. We need a pg for the future, point blank period. We need Amar'e & Melo to become our defensive leaders. Note that I'm not saying that they have to become our best defenders, but the guys you know won't be taking plays off or get absurdly lost on a rotation, etc. I like what JVG said yesterday when Amar'e took a charge & the first thing Melo did after the whistle was complain to the refs about a missed call on the LAST play before. JVG said Melo should be the first guy helping STAT up, extolling that kind of play.

At the end of the day, if our head coach won't hold guys accountable for their defense & is just waiting for the offense to come around, we will never see a day like that described above.

edit: TD is soooooooooo not a pg its not even funny. I get super heated on the 7 to 8 plays per game where he misses Amar'e in a viable pick n' roll or running the court. Like, his court vision is damn near Stevie Wonder status. Billups doesn't seem to be meshing well with any players really. At this moment, I miss Felton running the show.

People that live in NY still got alotta love for Wilson, Gallo, Moz and Ray. Most us from NY that r posting in here still feel an attachment to these dudes, mostly Will & Gallo, we drafted them and they were all guys who really wanted to be here and put it on the floor every night. Compared to some of the other dudes we had as well at the time it was refreshing to see dudes wanna play in NY and only care about collecting checks. Then these dudes started to play well and develop and honestly it was bittersweet the day we got Melo cause Will's that dude and Gallo started to show signs of what he's doing in Denver. We still in the honeymoon phase with this Melo deal

I respect people feeling attached to those old players because I love to see them do well also, but when people start saying things like "We should have kept those guys even if we missed out on Melo...EFF MELO...Melo won't get us anywhere" that's just insanity...I loved Gallo and Chandler but I can sit here and write you guys an entire list of guys in the league that can average 15ish points in D'Antoni's system..But you won't be able to write me a list more than 10-15 guys long of players in this league that can score as efficiently as Melo or can go for 30 on any night when healthy

We have a solid center like Nene or Tyson Chandler, we win the last 2 that we lost to the Magic..We don't get beat on the boards by garbage teams like Detroit/Milwaukee/Cleveland..We have a good center, we don't lose EITHER game that we lost to the Celtics..With an improved bench, we win many of those games where our starters slump in the 4th quarter.

A Carmelo type scorer does not come around very often..Look at the best scorers in this league..Wade/Lebron/Kobe/Rose/Durant/Nowitzki/etc are all guys that are going NOWHERE anytime soon so getting a star player when we had the EXTREMELY rare chance was a no brainer..And in all seriousness, did anyone think Amar'e/Chandler/Felton/Gallo were gonna win us a title? Even with years of chemistry it wouldn't happen..The Bulls and Heat will be great teams for a longggg time because their talented core is still young..By grabbing Carmelo and figuring out the rest in the future, it gave us our best chance to actually win a ring..Getting to the 2nd round every year wasn't the goal, which is where we would have been with the old squad

A PG and CENTER combo of Douglas and Jordan/Turiaf or Billups and effries/Turiaf ?

I'm sorry i have to go with the first option.

Giving Chauncey 14 mill even for one season does not sit well with me at all.

does anyone know what draft picks we have this upcoming draft?

i'd rather let billups go too. he's too slow defensively. age catching up to him. TD does a better job defensively, but i dont like the thought of toney running the point next season

i hate it when pringles subs landry fields with toney and has billups and douglas playing together

Only silver lining in that is that the draft is incredibly weak this year outside of 4-5 prospects.

Word is D'Antoni might be fired soon. Again, not a fan of this dude but you see how harsh it is to perform in NY when these rumblings happen already.

him performing badly isn't because of the meda rumblings. He's a stubborn dunce.

we were playing great with Turiaf. What does he do? plays the rest of the 4th with a Shawne Williams, Amare front court that has failed against bigger teams over and over again. He doesn't want to change or switch up anything

if he can't win with his system he doesn't want to win. It would be admitting that he has flaws. Small ball is his bread and butter

I'm also wondering why after Anthony Carter locked up Wade he isn't getting any playing time. Roger Mason is playing more than him. I wonder why.

I just think he didn't want to sacrifice the offense, cause Turiaf/Jeffries can be serious liabilities on offense (plus with Amare being off and all).

Carter should be playing though.

oh I know that's why he did it. He will always put offense over defense. But I mean it's failed over and over against the big teams like the lakers and magic

take a clue and try something different

The biggest plus yesterday was that we saw melo can pass extremely well when he wants to. Some of those passes were very impressive.

To be honest neither jefferies or turiaf was effective against Howard, if they can't stop Howard they have no reason to be in the game. STAT should of been guarding him but some how picked up 4 quick fouls

I didn't thing he was a unrestrictive free agent. But DJ is a must. Hopefully Clippers stick to their losing ways and not resign him

Also Humpries could be a good addition + his tag along could be right on courtside

don't get used to Melo passing on a consistent basis. George Karl knows him possibly more than anyone and has said the most frustrating part of his game is he has a switch for the boards and assists and he turns them on and off so one night he might grab 10 boards when he wants to and like last night he's capable of dropping dimes although it's only when he wants to. The scoring switch is the only one that is on no matter what. The rest of his game varies from game to game. I just wouldn't get used to him doing it on a consistent basis. He's not that elite type of player in my opinion to give you that effort on a nightly basis.

hey maybe being in NYC will help his game grow. It's happened for certain people

you either melt in NYC, become insane, or become fat and lazy.

Or you play the best ball of your career and become a legend. We will see what happens.

taking nights off is different under the magnifying glass of NYC. He will hear it from waaaay more people. Including family and friends

@UPPTEMPO
Spoiler [+]
I promise you, not a n_ in this thread wants any of those players instead of Melo. This is the same fight coated in bull %*%+. Some people don't care what it cost to get Melo. Some people truly feel like one less player would've got the deal done anyways and everything that implies (Isiah and Dolan Part II, Donnie leaving, harsh CBA, tragic rebuilding). I still don't believe in our front office. I did until this trade

I mean, Carmelo Anthony has been a Knick for a month and a pretty unsuccessful one at that. The same dudes saying they don't like bandwagon fans are surprised that when the honeymoon's over, some people aren't in love with Melo enough to treat every performance with light criticism and cheery optimism. When he played like a bum, we called him a bum. But for damn sure you couldn't find two guys who'd want Melo gone more than an hour after any game.

There's the promise of who you are and what you can do, and then there's reality. You gotta actually do it, or make people confident enough that you can do it. Nobody's talking about 20 games from now or next season. No %*%+ it's gonna be annoying in here, because we keep losing. Losing is annoying. It's always gonna be annoying whether there's a good reason for it or not. Do you just want us all to just treat him like Cleveland treated LeBron all those years?

Off topic but how do you guys think a team of

Brook Lopez
Mozgov
AK47
Wilson Chandler
Deron Williams

would work out ?

If Chandler wants to be back in NY his best chance might be Nets, where he wouldn't lose money. I Know Nets Owner wanted Moz and wants AK.

If we do not pick up Billups $14M, would we have enough for DJ and Chandler ? I still think we should of traded Turiaf for an Expiring.

That team has length but it'd be fighting for the 8th spot. I wouldn't enjoy watching them anyway with their coach and bench. Doubt Avery starts Moz anyway. Also, doubt Chandler goes to the Nets unless they overpay him.

If we had traded Turiaf now we'd probably be even worse. Especially for an expiring, that's like saying we have no intention of trying to compete with any team that has a big or good rebounders.

We're not getting Chandler back.

i want cp3 on this team badly but i think a center is more of a necessity.... i would waive chauncey this summer and make a serious run at marc gasol, tyson, or jordan...and get a point guard from this years draft and start toney....or maybe just keep this team in tact and still try to get cp3 next summer and draft a center... all i know is we need a center badly and someone that actually has game... not somebody that can just rebound and play defense but can score too... they don't have to be dwight status on offense but serviceable enough to score every now and then...

I second that notion of waiving Chauncey. When he first got here I loved him and Idk if it's because he's a little banged up or just doesn't give a crap anymore, but I had enough of him. Draft Kemba or Brandon Knight and I'll be happy.

I won't watch the Knicks if Toney Douglas is our starting pg. Don't even know if I could bare the radio with him leading our offense.

If we waive Chauncey I'd rather us start Carter or even Rautins, any rookie we draft. I don't know of any team that'd start TD. We should try to trade for Sessions or Augustin.

im not selling out on chauncey but like i said we lack depth and our biggest need is a center...so waiving him is nothing personal but it just frees up money to get a center... im not trying to say the pg is not an important position because it is especially in dantonis system but we need a big man period in order to contend for a chip... so i ask you knicks fans what is more important to you for this team a center or point guard?
