NT: Sportsbook Thread

I'm on Baylor incredibly large 1st half +.5 , would take that @$@# up to -2.5

Expecting Baylor to be up 14+ after the 1st half, just a total style clash and they should go into this one feasting

Y'all can thank me for the win. Everytime I would watch the game, ULL would always do something positive (score, get an INT, get a stop, etc) and OSU would mess up (Throw a pick, get stopped, etc. Though I did see 2 TD's in the 1st half) Once I stopped watching the game in the second half, OSU scored those 2 TD's in 90 seconds and went on a run

I got SLAUGHTERED last Saturday, so hoping for a much better performance today.  After last night's big Oklahoma St win, I'm hoping karma's on my side.  Glad to see you guys are on some of my plays as well.  I haven't locked on Mich St yet, but I most likely will.  Also looking at Kentucky later.  I was out this morning and I know some of these already started, but I wanted to get my plays documented.

Good luck to everyone today!

Minnesota (+22.5) vs. Wisconsin:

The big argument for Wisconsin I heard this week was that they're going to come into this game pissed off after losing to Michigan State last week and because Minnesota is horrible, the Badgers will blow them out of the water.Well, Minnesota's defense is horrible, their offense is pretty good actually and are led by a 5th year senior. They can put up some points and I see them getting to at least 21. That means the Badgers would have to get to 44. Even against that Gopher D, I think it's a stretch that they cover.

Boston College vs. NC State (-9.5):

Boston College has been having one heck of a time scoring and NC State is still on quest to convince people that they're for real this year despite last weeks choke job against VTech. NC States offense is too strong and I'm not sure what the identity of BC is at this point.

Illinois (+9) vs Penn St:

This figures to be lower scoring as both defense are pretty stout. Illinois has been fairly feisty so far and Penn St is inconsistent. I think Penn State at home should win, but by more than a TD? Don't believe so.

Michigan St (+4.5) vs. Michigan:

I don't see any reason to roll with Michigan today other than Denard Robinson, but that's not enough for me. Their defense is horrendous and Michigan State is solid on both sides of the ball. They can get the few key stops that Indiana could not last week, but the selling point is that Michigan St. can control the clock on the ground and if it comes down to it, can throw the ball to keep the pace with Denard. MSU straight up.

Arkansas (-6) vs. Texas A&M:

Interesting stat I've heard. BCS teams coming off of a bye week only cover 50% of their games the following week. Texas A&M can be tough, but I would go against Arkansas only if it were actually being played at Texas A&M's place. This game is on a nuetral field and A&M's secondary is a bit suspect. Mallett will take advantage of both and get Arkansas back on track

Florida State (+6) vs. Miami:

One great rivalry where the games always seem to be close and I look for much of the same with both teams having great defenses. The difference for me in this one is the quarterbacks. Harris can make plays at times, where other times he makes ugly mistakes. His inconsistency will haunt the Hurricanes because FSU won't be as kind as Clemson was to let Miami receive chance after chance. Christian Ponder is a poised leader who will rise to this occassion and stay efficient enough for FSU to win this game.

Oregon State (+8.5) vs. Arizona:

Remember that stat about a team coming off a bye week and covering only 50% of the time? This is the other end of that spectrum as Arizona wants to prove their status as contenders in the Pac-10. Coming off of a bye week many believe they will come out strong. This may be true, but Oregon State has been playing some very tough teams to start the year and they are already battle tested. Arizona is somewhat new to the rodeo and Oregon State is just tough. OSU will cover.

Purdue vs. Northwestern (-8.5):

Purdue is damage on the offensive side with injuries galore and their defense has been under performing. Northwester is undefeated and their offense looks pretty darn good. I see the Boilermakers hanging tough throughout the game, but they just don't have enough fire power when it comes down to it. I see Northwestern pulling away late in this one.

I've got some more I'll add in a bit.

^i like all those picks except minny... and fsu/miami don't really have a feel for... looks to me like you should have a good day.... good luck...

GL Everyone.

Damn Giants.  Knew I might be in trouble when the line dropped all the way to -115.....in the Bay Area.  Oh well.  4-1 in posted plays over the past 3 days.

Yeah, that line drop was crazy.  I was going to take the Braves, but by game time they were only +105, so I didn't feel the value was there.

I'll tell you what about Okla St.  I should personally go there and buy their FG kicker a beer, because that dude is a freaking beast.  He was nailing them from 50+ like it was nothing.

I took Wisconsin -22.5 because A. Minnesota lost a heartbreaker to NU last week and it was HOMECOMING. I watched the entire game. They played their hearts out. Huge let down that I think will carry over. Again, they are terrible this year, even with that QB. I think people are underestimating Wisconsin due to their loss and overestimating Minn due to their recent strong performance against NU (who, even though I go here and am going to the game today, is slightly overrated).

I also took WVU -27.5 b/c UNLV is traveling cross country, could seem to be a good play b/c they covered against Nevada, and WVU last lost to LSU and should be looking to dish out some punishment. I expect Noel Devine to go berserk in this game.

I also took Uter's recommendation on Baylor.

I'd love to bet that MSU-Mich game but I just don't know. Denard Robinson makes things wacky. Cousins has played alright. Can MSU stop this kid? Tough as hell to call, imo.

My thoughts. "Go U NU"

I'm hoping Texas Tech can play some defense in the 2nd half. Baylor's one TD was on a flukey onside kick, and another was on a 60+ yard pass. Texas Tech should keep moving the ball, and if they make a few stops, they should win.

Minnesota needs to score one more time...C'mon!

Edit: Damn...That was easy. Too quick dangit.
