excuse me but...what did I say was a lock from yesterdays bets?!??!

I said Flames and Oiler, bet hard

Oregon I called a lock which had nothing to do with yesterdays bets.

and regardless of what I say I'm not forcing anyone to pick along with me. (Although Mr. Marcus did cash in on Nebraska today bc of me)

That being said, nothing I posted yesterday (Giants, Yankees, Texas, Nebraska, Flames) I said were locks.

But w/e "call me out" all you want.

^I'm just saying to chill on using the word LOCK and not make posts like this. It's what you hear in cheap sports book commercials. Why do you think I'm not the first person to say this in the thread? Using the word lock is the corniest thing to do in betting. Saying "not a chance" is similar. It's just laughable rhetoric for sports gambling.

that's great...thanks...now go take a look at what happened on that "not a chance" bet

Nebraska by 35 points...not even within smelling distance of the +12 spread.

Sometimes I just know what I'm talking about and I'll say whatever the *#%% I'm feeling about the bet.

Think of it as corny and w/e I apologize that I'm confident in my picks. I'm not trying to sell any person on my picks, I'm not a 900 number like that #$#! you saw in "Two for the Money"

This is a thread about bets, so I'll make my posts and you can go ahead and make light or get angry at the other things I say.

But I guess my response is just as corny as the word lock. sorry

"Yankees over 7.5??????? with CC and Liriano on the mound in that ball park?!?!?!?!!??!? not a chance"

PLAY ON PLAYA.

ok and? I got that wrong (which is from Wednesday), just like I got the Flames pick wrong yesterday as well...what are you trying to say?

Try and belittle me all you want Fammo.

^The thing is... you are a reasonably good gambler and we wouldn't be having this tit for tat if it wasn't for your word choice (I've been checking this thread for a while now and we've seem to not had problems). Like I said, certain words/phrases are just not meant for sports gambling. It just irks other gamblers.

Again, why did two other people bring it up? They must be trying to hold you down as well.

You are a noob at gambling, and you probably have 1% of the knowledge that a seasoned sports gambler has, so please get off your pedestal,

Nobody here wants to read your posts involving all chalk that involve all "locks"

, people (should) try and use a thread like this for information - but at this point on page 100+ there is no information - just picks

Example - I posted about a friend of mine talking about how terrible K-State was on film, that got NO mention, not even a question of "what games did he watch - who else had an opinion on it, etc" that is enough right there,

I use the college football and college basketball threads as resources, but I would never dare touch this thread as a resource unless I valued an opinion, and sadly there are none that I can take serious (I can take Mr Marcus' opinion slightly serious because I know he is actually trying to work at this and holds a little weight). But you my friend just sound overzealous and cocky...time and time again. I've been there before, we all have. Just understand you're impressing no one and try and start to post things that may (or may not) be useful. Maybe why you may like a side, why you may not...or just post your picks. We do not need people over estimating what the word lock means, which is nothing more than a four letter word similar to loss.

Agreed.

I really enjoy the capping forum I follow because everyone posts their picks with research and opinions, and people respectfully post their research and opinions.  People don't act like 12 year olds criticizing other people's picks and calling every pick their 50,000 star lock of the millennium.

Post your picks here with some background information if you would like.  Don't just post a play saying it's a lock or don't just come in and criticize other people's plays.  There's been plenty of times I've been on the very wrong side of a play like some were with Kansas St last night.  You don't need people running in and telling you what an idiot you are.  Trust me, my first ever $500 play was the Colts +7.0 @ Jets in the 2003 Wild Card.  The Jets won 41-0.  I didn't need someone calling me an idiot after that one. I already knew I was.

And if all else fails, there's always the 'Ignore' function

try to change the direction of this great post.

im betting very hard on the oklahoma state over of 62 tonight.

honestly i use this thread just to post picks or talk about my good/bad day........i use covers forums just to get the feel of whats really going on as far as what do people like and this n that......n occasionally i'll get some very good information on the game on there.....and i some times compare line movements w/ how the public is betting....or lack thereof at times

Minnesota (+22.5) vs. Wisconsin - Rivalry game. Minnesota played decent against Northwestern and their QB is a fifth year senior. They should cover

Michigan St. (+4.5) vs. Michigan - Simple. Michigan State will control this game with their ability to run. Michigan's D is puke and won't stop MSU. Also, MSU is better defensively than Indiana and they'll be able to a get those few key stops that Indiana couldn't

FSU (+6.5) vs. Miami - I look at this as Ponder vs. Harris. Point Ponder. Harris is ok, but not good enough to consistenly beat FSU. He'll make a few mistakes that Ponder won't.

Arizona State vs. Washington (-2.5) - Washington finally started to put something together offensively against USC and they should only get better here.

NFL:

Minnesota (+3) vs. NYJ - Vikes have had 2 weeks to prepare. Jets are riding high. Moss!

Something like this right? Because that's why I tried starting this thread last year, but it got shut down a few times because of the verbage in my title I'm assuming. I did a good job of explaining all my picks back then and this was me in a rush.

I want to use this site for some sort of information because it is where I frequent. I go to other sites, but I'd still like to get other tidbits here.

Someone simply posting there picks (I'm guilty too) isn't worth anything, because frankly...I don't care. I want the info!

i like the Giants tonight... and the over in the phils/reds game... not sure if i'm taking them, but those are my leans...

Giants and Phillies tonight.

A. I don't trust Arroyo at all especially in that hostile environment tonight. That place is going to be rocking from the after effects of Doc's game and now they counter with Oswalt who has been strong for the Phils. The Reds have to be mentally beaten after what they went through. They only hit 4 balls out of the infield, pretty nuts. Phils are also 11-2 in their last 13 home games.

B. Tommy Hanson is pitching tonight, and he got hit in the eye yesterday with a baseball while taking BP. I doubt he would be pitching if it was anything serious but you gotta think that it didn't feel good and maybe he isn't 100%. Since August 23rd, Matt Cain is 4-1 with an ERA just above 2 and 47K's in 55.1 IP and with Cain it's always the same story, IF and that's a big IF the Giants get him run support he can win. He has been plagued by no help via the bats since his career started.

^ about the reds game... Oswalt is 0-2 with a 6.75 era this year against the reds... thats the only reason why i'm leaning more towards taking the over rather than a side... because i dont trust Arroyo either...

Hmm...that stat is hard to ignore but..it's the playoffs now.

Oswalt is 4-0 in the playoffs with a 3.66 ERA and that was with the Houston Astros. You know the Phils are gonna hit Bronson so Oswalt should get a nice early lead.

damn.... i sat this thread out for a week and it sure took an ugly turn.

not sure if any of yall bet MMA, but for those who have taken an interest in my analysis and picks in the past, here is my unsolicited pick/analysis for this weeks event

BET NICK DIAZ

In my opinion, Diaz v. Noons 1 is not relevant. While Diaz has decent to good cardio, that weight cut to 160 was just a bit too much for him. Fighting as a legit WW, I dont think the cut is going to have as much an effect (if any) this time around. As much as I hate Diaz, I respect his fighting abilities. Even though he may act like a knucklehead in interviews, press conferences, etc... etc.. I honestly believe that he is not a "dumb" fighter. Both Diaz brothers have a knack for getting their opponent to fight their fight, not the other way around. I will admit that I have not seen a ton of KJ Noons before, but what I have seen has not been that impressive.

Looking at KJ's last fights, he was able to out-strike Huen and Gurgel. But neither fighter made a concerted effort to take this fight to the mat. No one is doubting Noons abilities as a boxer/striker. While Nick's unorthodox striking style can be difficult to counter, I would still give the edge to Noons on the feet. The problem is, any advantage that Noons has standing, he more than gives up on the ground. While Diaz doesnt have overwhelming takedowns, Noons (as far as I can tell) does not have a great sprawl or takedown defense of his own. Eventually, Diaz will be able to take this fight to the mat with his guile and size/strength advantage. On the ground, Noons is in dangerous territory. If Diaz can get into top control, it could make for a short night. My only concern is that Diaz tries to get too cute, and passes up the freebie submission just so he can batter Noons a bit. Hopefully his arrogance does not give Noons an extra opportunity to get back to his feet and pull off some sort of KO.

I booked Diaz at -210. Line appears to be in the -230 to -240 range. Personally I think there is still value up to -250. Anything above that I might stay away.

Arroyo is the one player on this team with postseason experience and a ring to show for his good work in 04. One thing he'll do is eat innings and won't be intimidated by that lineup. Personally, I'm staying away from that game.

Mojo, I ALWAYS use your MMA bets

especially during the month long drought of no boxing. Good looks on that.
