I'm not a Niners fan, and I've always expressed my dislike for Alex Smith -- but he's already swayed my judgement and I think he's a good quarterback.

I feel totally sorry for him now.  Not only does he lose his starting job due to injury, the 49ers organization has the audacity to thank him for everything he's done by sending him to the worst team in the NFL.  (I don't mean any harm to KC fans, but if you're picking first -- you're the worst.)

If they had even an ounce of respect for the man, they would've just let him go.  At least then he'd have options.  Not to mention his only shot at a payday would be through good play for the Chiefs... and with Dwayne Bowe gone?  Good luck.  Have fun handing the ball off to Jamaal Charles and watching him get injured.

I realize it's a business, but the Niners have been in it shady.

ye............................NO

Why are yall suprised? It was obvious and heavily talked about after the Super Bowl that he was going to get 20 million a season from the Ravens.

I was a big flacco supporter but he got way too much he should've got 16-17 a year

Rodgers finna get 130 tho

Like are yall really shocked or upset by this contract?

Nfl contracts are all funny money until I hear the guaranteed money.

Not necessarily 'shocked' or 'upset.'

It's just crazy, because 12 months ago we would of all laughed our ***** off is someone had told us that in 2013 Joe Flacco would be be the highest paid player in NFL history.

Guaranteed money or not.

That's just crazy, wouldn't you agree? :lol

16-17 million.. lol come on now, this is the NFL. No way he was gonna take that little. If you think Flacco's contract is a lot wait till Rodgers gets paid. And Matt Ryan will probably get a bit under what Joe got.

As a Ravens fan, I'm not gonna overreact until I actually see the terms of the deal. It's most likely backloaded, I highly doubt he's getting paid 20 mil this year or the next. I read somewhere that he's gonna get something like 7mil for this season, which would enable us to resign Boldin and hopefully Reed.

These dudes gave *insert Super Bowl winning franchise QB still on rookie contract* 120 million...................
Uhh yeah? Sounds about right in today's NFL.

I'm gonna miss seeing Mike Williams bust Dunta Robinson's punk *** two times a year and Michael Turner getting tackled behind the line of scrimmage 85% of the time. But seeing that this opened up 18.5 mill in cap space and they must have some sort of replacements already picked out kinda scares me......

I'm thinking their replacements are probably Steven Jackson, Dwight Freeney and a rookie corner like Trufant or Banks.

I want Revis & Steven Jackson and draft a young DE

With the increased cap numbers, its supposed to be for the team to keep as many key players as possible and these dudes go and commit 20 million a year to 1 player :x :{

Weren't there trade rumors around the time when the Ravens lost to the Pats the year before :lol ? What a difference a year makes

Justin Smth's injury and Cam Cameron's firing were the two biggest developments of last year.

6 years 120mil contract =/= '20 million a year'

There's backloading, bonus/salary, etc..

That contract is :eek Ravens have to hope they can get back some of those guys that helped Flacco out in that post season run.

Rodgers must be thrilled right now :lol

So Joe Flacco is the highest paid player in NFL HISTORY?

I'm going back to bed...

If he was going to stay in Balt, this is what I wanted to see
