How do 9er fans feel about aldon basically being totally ineffective without Justin Smith?

most of aldons sacks were due to justin. his ability to get to the qb went hand in hand with justins play. that is why von > aldon.

DRC is the most intriguing to me. He can be a big-time signing for someone.

I like the look of Garrard in N.Y. too. Good stop gap until they find a franchise guy.

Yall are seriously into this what have you done the very last game image. Our Defense gave up 27 points to the Super Bowl Champions. With a handful of those coming off offensive turnovers. Now its no longer a Great defense. Was there a single defense that wasnt exposed in a game all season? Are there any Great defense left in the league? Who are yall comparing the 49ers defense to?

Toward the end of season yall were giving up points left and right.

I dont know why yall keeo getting so butthurt about it.

Its like if you dont think the 9ers defense is the greatest you have committed a sin.

I'm butthurt because I stated some facts and asked a couple questions? So tell me which defense in the league is "Great", since SF clearly is not. I just want to know so I can have a standard.

Like stated all throughout the season, there were no "great" teams, just some Very good ones.

if thats true chiefs are dumb , raiders gave up a so much for carson palmer

giving up even more picks for a quarteback with as many pressing needs

as the raiders have would cripple them.....a team in the division too

Raiders gave up so much because it was middle of the season with playoffs on the line. Kyle Boller was our backup :x

Maybe the raiders were trolling the chiefs because everyone knew Reid wanted foles or smith 8o

They're using that same excuse Doc Rivers always had, that his starting five never lost a series.

What do you want them to do? Every team going through transition needs a stop gap QB to bridge them to the next era. I think it's smart to build the team and it's skill components first, and then get the QB once the pieces are in place.

Queston for the niketalk moderators......

Why is it that the Tom Brady is Overrated thread was locked after a mere five posts, but the Kobe Bryant is Overrated thread is two thousand one hundred and sixty seven posts long and still going strong?

Just curious.

The jets are in a bad situation.

What is signing 2 journey men QBs going to do? Obviously Sanchez isn't going to turn into an upper tier of QB. But when he had a team around him he wasn't bad.

At this point the jets know they made a mistake with Sanchez but throwing **** at the wall and hoping it sticks isn't going to solve anything.

With that coach/QB combo, itd be hard to believe the Niners wont be knocking on the door of the SB every year for the next decade.

The Dolphins thought the same
thing after Marino's 2nd season. Just saying fam

They're cheap and it expresses to the organization that they've turned the page on the Sanchez era. They're not trying to solve a problem by bringing in veteran quarterbacks. Again...It's a bridge. It's done by a lot of successful teams. No point in going after a big name Q or drafting a successor in this years draft when they don't even really have the long-term answers to their RB or WR's. Defense is about to lose its best player so there's too much going on for them to worry about a QB. Garrard is the perfect guy for this situation because he understands his role and he's been successful before. The Jets will have a guy they don't have to worry about while they build a team. Sanchez doesn't have the leadership skills in order for it to work with him and even more...It's stressed in many businesses that changes are being made. That's where Quinn comes in if they don't go Garrard.

To be that fan bro. The Niners defense was giving up alot of points late in the season. Great defense? Nah. A pretty good defense? Yes.

That gameplan against Rodgers was great though. But that Pats game comes to my mind, granted ya got that W.

A little off base but related, why is there like 5673 basketball threads?

Like...
- Name your starting five if the game was going to be played on a Tuesday.
- Starting a new franchise, who is your starting five if everyone could only dribble with their left hand?
- Lets discuss Player X's facebook page
- Who was the best all time rebounder in the third quarter of afternoon games?

And the list goes on and on...all the other sports keep the topics all in a couple threads. Thats partially why. For football we have the season thread and QB discussion thread.

And it goes without saying that TB12 is the GOAT and will not be disrespected like that....

Pats second half and Seahawks game was messy. No Justin Smith translated to 60+ points in 6 quarters. With that, we were still 2nd in the league in points allowed. Im just wondering if there were any "Great" defenses in the league, since ours clearly wasnt. No ones answered my question yet.
