Deon Branch signing is hilarious. Colts are winning that game.

SF has the best road record this season.
Won their last 7 games including yesterday.
Didn't have Aldon Smith, Vernon Davis or Crabtree last time they played Carolina....

Cincy should pick up Vick. I don't think Vick will get hurt behind that line. You could also keep Vick on the bench until the playoffs start because Andy can't play

FSU wins tonight

Peyton has sucked for the most part in the playoffs and that's why he has this aura. There are like two games that I can think off of the top of my head (Jets in 11 and Steelers in 05) where I don't pin the blame on him... but that's it. Played really damn good those games, had some bad drops (Garcon) and terrible o-line protection (05).

Even then, he shoulda simply scored more points. Greats find a way to win.

Win the chip this year and everything bad goes away, simple as that.

1999 against the Titans, 2000 against the fins, 05 against the Steelers, and 11 against the Jets were not his fault.

Rest were. The amount of sadness besides 06 that he put me through. :(

Still is my dude though.

I'd quote this 50 times but folks would still not get the clue.

JJ this I agree this conversation get old and going to drop it. But let me ask this....

Why is it fair to ask Peyton put up 35 points to get the W every single game?

Other QBs don't have to do it. Not every night they don't.

Talking bout he threw 2 INTs against a motivated defense that actually went all the way.

What about his D stepping up and getting a stop against a QB that everybody seems to think is average. The Ravens put up 38 points. You damn right the Broncos wouldn't have been in it without those ST plays. Their defense did nothing to help.

To me, you can't have it both ways. You can't say OMG, Peyton Peyton Peyton, he scores 40+ every week, OMG OMG OMG

And then say, why does he HAVE to do that?????

Well, for one, all the money the Colts AND the Broncos invest in their offenses, to surround him with weapons. Maybe if he didn't have to have HIS system or style, they could go heavy on defense, and let Peyton hand off to a solid RB with a good Oline and just 1 WR?

Or maybe if Peyton didn't need to score so damn much, and keep doing it quickly, to put his defense right back on the field, maybe then he wouldn't HAVE to score those 35 in a given situation.

I've pointed it out in the QB thread several times. Luck may not be Peyton in terms of pure stats, but he doesn't want to be. Some games, he just wins 17-13 and hands off 30+ times while throwin for 170 yards.
Then other games he has to hit the gas a little and throw for 350+. Bottom line, he does what his team needs on a given day. Peyton? He's gonna do what he wants to do, which is throw the ball around over and over and over.

Literally the only game I can recall him handing off a ton was the NE game when it was freezing cold and his arm wasn't gettin it done. So they rode Moreno like a horse. And I was honestly happy with Peyton that day for doing just that and not forcing it.

its amazing how strong bias and "momentum" can sway public opinion

Vegas has the Colts as a 7 point dog and the general consensus is looking more like a 50/50 split between people taking the Colts or Pats straight up

It would never happen but I think romo would be perfect for the bengals.

I'm sure Jerry is having some type of buyers remorse on the romo contract,

The bengals are a very talented team who's a good quarterback away from making a serious run.

I don't think romos built for the spotlight and expectations that come with being the cowboys qb. In a smaller market like cincinnati with less pressure and demands and he'd be seen as the savior.

Cowboys get picks or whatever, draft a qb and get younger and its a fresh start for everyone.

It would never happen but it would work for both sides imo

At the end of the day, nobody likes seeing Peyton's forehead all over the screen every damn regular season when he's doin' numbers and spoke of in gawd like terms while his team's stacking W's... but when his squad loses "it's not his fault"... you can use that excuse once, maybe twice (see carrot-top Dalton) but after that you deserve to get the blame if you're supposedly GOAT status.

Cause he does it all through the regular season and never has a problem.

Hell he does often to the same teams he often sees in the playoffs.

The playoffs are different.

I don't know the stats but willing to bet most playoff teams have a top 15 defense.

While Peyton comes in the playoffs with a maybe a top 20 to 25 defense.

The thing that I hate the most is. The Peyton vs Brady.

People throw out that Brady has the better record. But Ignore the fact that he is going against a top 20 defense. While Peyton is going against a great coach in BB with a always ready and prepared defense.

It's a team sport. How many times has Peyton had the D to back him up. When the offense can't get 30?

That's all I'm trying to say.

There are no excuses for the losses against SD. If you put that on him I'm cool. But all the other ones, let's really look at the whole story.

so let me ask you a question

when Tebow was the QB two years ago with roughly the same defense , they were among the leagues best defensive unit . with Peyton Manning they are at the bottom of the league . why do you think that is ?

You make some good points. I'll leave it at that...

Luck is closer to Brady than he is to Manning. 8o

Always ready and prepared? Bill is a great coach but it's only so far coaching can get you that defense has been piss poor the past few years.... This year they have improved heavily IMO and their still a lil above average.

Let's not mention that last time Brady made the SB he did it with the LAST RANKED defense in the League. Or the fact that rodney harrison was an inch away from securing a perfect season in which Brady was down drove his team down the field and scored a TD.

From what I see, age and injuries.

But let me guess. Is it because Peyton scores to quick? :lol

And that's why Peyton has done a little better the last few years against IIRC. He beat them in the playoffs in the last few years. Hasn't he?

We've talked Aikman, but in terms of who is he "closer" too, yeah I could see Brady moreso than Peyton.

Brady has tons of games just handing off, or checking down, etc. Then he'll get 400+ when needed as well.

Overall, I'll stay with the Aikman comp for now. Maybe in a few years we can adjust.

I agree.

I just love watching this kid play. Its a pleasure.

Us Colts fans should go to church each and every Sunday thanking God we went from Peyton to Luck and didnt do something that happened to the Broncos. Elway to Brister

Cardinals at Panthers

Steelers at Patriots

If they added the extra wild card this year

Luck with be the king when Peyton, Brady and Brees step down.

So if you were starting a franchise, you would pick Brees over Luck?

Only QB not named Brady or Manning that I would take over Luck is Rodgers.

based on potential , maybe . but its just too early to tell IMO

Brees has won a Super Bowl and the MVP award . Luck has shown flashes of greatness , but at this point im taking the proven guy over Luck

Russell Wilson > Andrew Luck
