New York Yankees Official Thread - RIP Former Manager Petey Rose

Im not keen on letting Gleyber walk, not because they can’t replace him because Jazz does that, quite nicely.

But what would be the worry is they won’t go into FA and then being stuck with DJ everyday at 3B. He’s not good.

That’s the main consideration of Gleyber. Especially when they could be handcuffed with DJ and Rizzo at the corners. That is not a good spot to be in at all.

As for pitching. I’m of the mind of needing a 2/3 guy.

I can be on board with a closer to challenge Weaver, but he did show up big. I think they put him in a ****** spot last night that he couldn’t fully get out of.

They can’t be handcuffed with Rizzo. They hold the club option. I think/hope this postseason has shown that they’re going to need to spend. Again, literally lost to a team that just went out and spent a billion on contracts. Just need to go after the right pieces and not just be content if they swing and miss on a guy like they did after Yamamoto last offseason.

Not a fan of Rizzo as a bench guy. He's a great clubhouse guy but he brings nothing other than a backup 1b. No multiple positions, no pinch running, etc. If we have to stick with him to spend money elsewhere, so be it. But if we buy him out, just move on.

1) we play extremely dumb baseball - this HAS to be fixed

2) we need more hitters

3) we need more pitchers

4) and this goes without saying Soto absolutely needs to resign.

So yea. This is going to be an interesting and stressful offseason once again.

One thing for sure Boon should have done yesterday was a mound visit in the 5th after the Rizzo/Cole mess up. 3 miscues to that point and still only held them to 1 run with 2 outs....could have came in and settled everyone down

Yea don’t know how truly good he was

The 5th inning happened and killed our chances but Kahnle looked like he didn’t give a ****. Came in walked a guy, gave up 2 back breaking hits and the game was completely over from there.

1) Definitely resign Soto
2) I think the embarrassment from Judge this playoffs and the WS will bring an even better player next year.
3) One more all star caliber starting pitcher would be ideal.
4) CLOSER CLOSER CLOSER
5) Mover Nestor to our 7-8th inning setup guy. G the through in Stroman as a potential 7-8th inning guy as well.
6) We definitely need better than Verdugo at LF, I’ll give Wells one more year to improve.
7) I like Gleyber. I think he’s worth a mid-tier MLB contract. If he gets greedy tell him to bounce.
8 ) Lastly, Boone. I know he’s coming back already but he needs to evolve because at times he looks like he’s learning on the job with his batting order and when to pull and not pull pitchers.

We had everything in place to win it this year but sloppy baseball took over at the wrong time and cost us a WS championship. I’m confident we’ll get it done this offseason.

Stroman is making $18m next year with a player option for the same the following year if he hits 140 IP. I get we don't make lineup decisions based on contracts but $18m for an 8th inning guy is harsh.

Im all in on Vladdy.

Could have half the farm honestly.

Blue Jays won’t finish top 3, Vladdy is a free agent after next year. Already have had articles about he’s likely out of there..

That’s the move I’d make. It’s the move the Dodgers would make if they just lost the WS too.
