He's finally making hitters swing and miss.

He had eight strikeouts in his first three starts. He's got five through four innings tonight.

I don't feel like we're far off, but we better get it going quick or we're gona be stuck in mediocrity

The entire rotation has came around, 1-4 in the lineup has been great and Wood is essentially lights out.

Choo and Gark have been solid and Asdrubal has been a nice surprise. Jhonny, Ben, Shoppach and Crowe have been pretty awful.

As far as the bullpen goes, outside of Wood and maybe Kobayashi, nobody else has been completely reliable.

Before tonight, the defense has been steady.

I don't know; it's just not all clicking simultaneously right now. When we're hitting, we aren't pitching; when we're pitching, wearen't hitting.

It's a manager's job to get all that on the same page.

Is that the case?

No.

Eric Wedge, I'm watching you.

yeah, pretty much.

as the weather warms up, I think we'll hit our stride. It's just seeing is believing.

On one hand, I could see where Wedge's time with this group is running out as sometimes just a new voice can get things started again.

The other side of that is, Wedge is not the problem and is a good manager. Never gets too high or low, defends his guys and most of the time makes the rightcalls. Only so much a manager can do. Players produce the results.

Looking at the lineups we've used, I came up with a few interesting things.

We're 4-7 when Garko starts; 1-6 when Shoppach starts.

We're 2-3 with this starting lineup:

Sizemore
DeRosa
Martinez
Hafner
Peralta
Choo
Garko
Francisco
Cabrera

These are the five games we've played with that lineup (43 runs scored):

Rangers - L 5-8
Blue Jays - L 7-13
Royals - W 8-7
Yankees - W 22- 4
Twins - L 1-5

We've scored 50 runs in the 13 other games (4-9 record).

Interestingly enough, Crowe has been in the starting lineup for all four of those wins.

He's hitting under .200, but I like what he brings to the table, anyway: speed.

"Our approach has been very poor," manager Eric Wedge said. "It's something we pride ourselves on. We work hard at it. There's just no excuse, whether it's lack of discipline or concentration or confidence or whatever the hell it is, we better figure it out pretty damn quick because I'm not going to sit around and watch what we've been watching here."

lol. probably.

Laffey is just a gamer. I can't remember him ever really pitching us out of a game.

wow....i havent been to the JAKE since they changed the name but wow it looks like they continued to make the park even nice....i love the JAKE

Hopefully Boston ran out of gas from the Yankees series.

LaPorta update: .400, 5 HR, 13 RBI and only 5 strikeouts in 60 at-bats.
