Earlier this month, news surfaced about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Oklahoma City Thunder guard, nearing the end of his contract with Converse. Rather than waiting for him to become a sneaker free agent, both sides acted quickly.

Gilgeous-Alexander and Converse have agreed on a multi-year contract extension. As per the new deal, he becomes the Creative Director for Converse Basketball. Additionally, his first signature shoe is set to debut in 2025, according to Shams Charania.

Since teaming up with Converse in 2021, Gilgeous-Alexander has released several player-exclusive colorways and worked on lifestyle models. While the design of his signature sneaker remains a secret, it’s expected to be bold and fashionable.

Details of Gilgeous-Alexander’s extended partnership with Converse and his signature shoe are yet to be revealed. Stay tuned for updates.

In summary, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has extended his contract with Converse, becoming the Creative Director for Converse Basketball. His inaugural signature shoe is slated for release in 2025, promising a bold design. Keep an eye out for more information on this exciting collaboration.

It reminds me of a Curry. If they drop a cw similar to the iconic Black/White Chuck Taylor’s (with the White Toe Cap), I’d be IN for doubles.

Wonder if they’ll debut this weekend during the NBA All Star festivities?

I'm just glad somebody is debuting their new joints. Edwards and Booker been wearing their 1st edition joints for 2 years.
Low-key, these could have also been Caitlyn's joints. Logo and all. They have a feminine feel to them, likely due to sga's androgynous style.

Not terrible but not my style at all. At least it has an sig type of look. Overall, better than 90% of the Nike lineup visually. Nike has got to be kicking themselves letting him go to their converse subdivision

This. I like what the other brands are doing, as in they’re doing what Nike used to do, which is create something different and stands out. I like that Converse, Adidas, even Anta amongst others are “swinging for the fences” while Nike is still creating signature shoes built off of other signature silhouettes. Plus if Nike would’ve kept him his signature would’ve looked like a Ja, Kobe, or a Sabrina.
