LOCK THIS UP. GO TO SEASON THREAD!

like i said earlier, erman was basically recording messages behind mark and reporting back to lacob. got a job with the celtics (lacob's connection). mark wasnt getting any respect from ownership. they didnt trust him and wanted to have surveillance around him. would not surprise me if they had his office bugged, and phones recorded

#conspiracy

this better not back fire on joe. or else...

Another good thing that comes out of this is that this confirms Lacob really wants to win big and get a title, and isn't content with making the playoffs only. By making this move, he's putting his ownership legacy potentially on the line, and putting it out there. Time will only tell if this ends up working out.
If he cared about PR this move wouldn't have been made, but it shows he's willing to sacrifice that for potentially making a bigger splash.

what role does jerry west play with the organization. i always hear consultant and minority owner. does he have any say?
Not sure what role if any Jerry West had in firing Jackson was, but he sure as hell didn't go to bat for him with Lacob.

Been reported that Jackson didn't like West around and didn't want him at practices.

hard to say whether I like this move even though I did have my qualms about mjax... all we can do is wait and see who the replacement is. what i can say is that i like lacob's desire to win big

"Lacob hired Jackson in 2011 against the advice of executive board member Jerry West, who backed and then hired Michael Malone as the team’s lead assistant. Jackson and West have been on tenuous terms ever since, and the head coach has always been paranoid about his assistants getting credit."

-Rusty Simmons

Hmm didn't know that West didn't even want Jackson in the 1st place

This pretty much summarizes my outlook as well based on all that we know:

Lacob indicated that Jackson was the right man to turn around the team's culture, but he isn't the right man to take the team to next level.

Tyronne Lue has been touted for other coaching jobs and has been a respected assistant...I'd be down.

Where is the reference for George Karl? How is he not on our radar?

I dont want Thibs coaching or SVG. Thibs is a great defensive mind and does not manage the minutes of his team well and SVG I cant think of a player who enjoyed playing for him honestly.

Warriors management is one of the best in the league. In Lacob I trust.

Lacob has had to make a lot of TOUGH, controversial decisions in the past few years. I recall the Monta trade, where all the GSW fans on NT were in an uproar. That was a tough move to make for management, and one that paid off tremendously. Lacob's track record has been solid. I think he knows what he is doing.

Mark Jackson did a good job but he has definitely reached his apex. If this team is going to be a true title contender, Mark Jackson is not the guy. It's bittersweet. He was the perfect guy to take a rebuilding team to the playoffs, but not the guy to take us to the finals. I feel like it was the right move to make.

Tibbs going nowhere we got a lot of work ahead in chi with rose and Melo lol.....

Jackson was good it's just the relation he had with his guys curry and all them just seemed to loose like he was there boy not enough th discipline to get to the top imo

That's valid. Jackson was totally the homie. The cool teacher that let you sip 40s in class. And watch porn.

But man, don't know if our players are gonna like the strict approach.

I dont want Thibbs coming anywhere near this roster. No one on this team is built to play 42 MPG

Summed up pretty well. They may not react well to discipline, but it's something that should take the team to the next level. Reading more of the stories, rumors, I think this was the right move. It seems like behind closed doors there were too many things going on for this not to possibly end in a much worse blow up if Jackson stayed on.
