**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

My biggest worry about this team in the playoffs is scoring (and frankly this was my worry before the trade). A guard playmaker off the bench is ideal to play with Bron unless Knecht is really that dude.
Wasn’t D’Lo that?

Yeah, I thiiiiiiiink he's a guy that CAN play off the ball........but doesn't want to play off the ball, know what I mean?

I absolutely think DLo is the better spot up fit off Bron than Ant, but who knows? Maybe another shooter getting open looks off Bron emerges.

But cost could/would be high too. Portland would want multiple firsts. And salary matching likely costs us Rui, and/or Vando, right? (I know Portland loved Vando back when he had two legs)

I'd do one FRP because he's only signed through next season. Though I think with the rules, he would likely re-sign/extend.

Could do Rui and Vincent. But I was thinking more Vincent, Vando, JHS, Hayes, FRP for Simons and Reath. Think the DFS trade makes Vando expendable, who the Blazers won't mind sitting. Gives a clear path for Scoot to get 35 mpg the rest of the season.

None of the Cavs even cracked 30 minutes tonight. Warriors are useless. :lol

Kings took down a makeshift Mavs team, so Lakers are now tied in the loss column. Kings' season should be over by the end of the month (check their January schedule, it isn't pretty) if it isn't already.

Probably ignoring the Lakers tax in a lot of these.

There’s a reason they couldn’t make a move last deadline and in the offseason.

Lakers go into the next 35 or so days needing to make a move or two. Team as constructed isn’t better. It’s not closer to contention. It’s a different arrangement of deck chairs.

Remember, they hate us. :lol

I assume they'd want multiple firsts if all we sendin is Gabe, Jax, JHS and a guy who hasn't played since the last Trump term.

They have 1 more move they can realistically make. They are prob gonna look at these next few weeks and depending on how the team looks they’ll decide between a big or athletic lead guard.

This is something we all saw coming and I think it will only get worse in the coming years. Imagine if you are a conference title game loser like Texas or Penn State. Not only are you expected to shell out money to attend the conference title game, you're also pay for the game on your campus in the first round and then three more neutral sites.

You know, ideally, Bruce Brown is the exact type of big guard you want next to AR.

But gonna need to see more than 1 game.

Think Lavine ship has sailed, not just because of the price. If AR is the kead guard now, no point in investing $40+ million in someone who takes the ball out of his hands. Unless you're moving AR in the deal and there sending multiple players and picks back.

How would a LaVine deal even work? The ideal time to trade for him was over the summer when his value was all time low but he’s played well this year.

I imagine we’d have to trade Vincent, Vando, Rui, JHS + whatever salary for LaVine + filler salary. Of course the lakers would have to throw in some draft compensation too.

I think we missed the boat. Trades with that many players involved usually don’t take place during the season.

Probably one more trade left: scoring guard who can relieve ar/bron from ball handling all game or a 20 mpg center who can start against big teams occasionally.

Also keep in mind that trading Vincent will open up another hole. Vando is probably the most easily tradeable piece now that DFS is here but he has the least tradeable contract on our team.

I mean Bruce Brown would be fine.. But what salary for him?

What incentive do the Raptors have to take Gabe and Vando when Bruce is an expiring?
It’s more favorable for LA. But neither guy will do anything for them. Have to assume multiple picks including 1 of the firsts go out as well.

And if it's Rui who Toronto liked in the past + $5mil (JHS & Wood I'd assume) for Bruce and hopefully not trade the firsts....
Is DLo & Rui for DFS & Bruce Brown on the surface good? Better defense sure, but adds significant amount of pressure on Bron, AD & AR.

I mean, rightfully so? That’s why Bron and AD are making the max… they need to play like superstars and AR needs to play like the 3rd stAR some of yall say he is.
