**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Every time I see the Raptors Bruce Brown in street clothes, has he played a game this season?
what street clothes?

looks like hes ready for a 12hr day on the ranch to me

I like that trade, think it' fair BUT Ainge got a history of only doing lopsided trades though. Better defender than DLo, about same offensively imo

Sexton has a bit of “dog” in him whereas Dlo folds with his tail between his legs when players are physical or the moment is too big

Thinking they're coming off of Collin or Walker for less than a first a piece... :lol

That's the starting point

Also nobody has really watched Collin nearly enough

Lmao.

Guess my screenshot didn’t show the draft picks but yes they can have em.

My plan would be to go all in one last time this season and do the AD trade for all the OKC picks you can get off of them in the summer.

Okay. I rescind my point.

But my question would be is if you go all-in and trade the firsts.. But then unload AD if it doesn't work out, and statistically it's more likely to not work out.
The last rebuild took 5 years + and was only shortened because of LeBron deciding to end his career in LA.

Sooooo. Probably cross him off the list

Lakers issue is going to come down to having way too many “untouchables” or “we need to significantly win a trade to consider it.”

Where they screwed up last year is not having good margin trades in tow. They spent weeks on Dejounte Murray. When the Hawks were really clear that if they wanted Dejounte, Austin needed to be in the trade.

And also not recognizing that if you trade a guy, you also need to replace him in some way.

Ingram gives them the most value in return for a FRP and threads the needle for now plus future.

One problem is how they get to that salary number.

Because if it’s DLo and Rui. Sure I can see the value, but then really cutting it close with guard and center needs and trying to trade. Unless you then make Max and DK available.
(If you don't make Max and DK available in other trades. Would need to fill Guard needs and Center needs. While still being flimsy at forward. With a package of:
-Gabe
-Reddish
-JHS
-Max Lewis
-Wood
-Hayes

Not sure I see a whole lot of good coming from this availability. And in a collective, I'd rather just have Rui + DLo + a 1st.... If I don't have 2-3 more quality role players coming as well.

If it’s DLo + a bunch of guys. Or Rui + a bunch of guys. Then you just have an issue stacking salaries because you’ll be really shorthanded.
(By the way, it should be Rui + bunch of guys. Shocker. But because of what the team is unless you have another move in tow. Should be trading 0 positions without replacing them with an acceptable replacement).
