**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I think it's going to be Bruce Brown or Sexton. And hopefully a more stout center to help out AD.

Hesitant to post this because I really don’t feel like arguing about ACTIVE BIGZ anymore but the Lakers need perimeter defenders more than anything else on the roster right now.

I got shot down on this idea last season I think but I was hoping they’d do after Wiggins while his trade value was down. Dude who can guard 1st options, get you 15-20 on any given night without hijacking the offense = perfect fit.

They need perimeter defenders and bigs. They need one as much as the other. You ain’t winning a championship if you’re missing both.

Boston circa 2021-22 vs Boston 2023-24 is the perfect example.

They didn’t win a title until they improved their overall roster by acquiring White, Holiday, Queta, and Porzingis because clearly Brogdon, Smart, Robert Williams, and Grant Williams were not enough, too soft, and too small.

Lakers need to do the same and get rid of the soft, always injured, and inconsistent (DLo, Rui, Gabe, Reddish, JHS, Vando) and add legit 2-way players and more size if they dream of being competitive in a 7 games series against teams like the Celtics, Cavs, Grizzlies, Thunder, and the new look Warriors who will probably add an impact big man before the deadline to shore up their roster.

It'll probably mean Max getting cut out of the rotation, but if it's Gabe then it might be worth it. :hat

I'm moreso chuckling at everyone HATING Cam just a few short weeks ago. Like don't ever let him touch the court, now the reaction gon be goooooood. :smokin

It’s likely the move you make anyway. If you have a Bruce Brown type player.

You have 30 minute splits of AR, Brown and DLo.

The hope is Cam staying focused for his super specific role for 30 minutes a night.

They did it last year, it lasted a handful of games and died a very unfortunate death for everything around it.

The other hope is that AR can improve his PG play with even less options around.

Gotta repost this every time the new guy ends up doing the same thing the old guy got fired for…

Just hope Cam doesn't do that dumb **** on offense like he got away with last season. Haven't really seen it this season. Yet.
