**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Nothing positive came out this game for the underachieving Lakers.

Its been obvious for months, from the USofA to Asia and to the Latin Americas, EVERYBODY know what the Lakers' main problem is

Don't play again until Thursday so they get to rest after practically being on the road all month.

Ham put Reaves on the bench to separate him and D'Lo in part so they wouldn't be targets on defense aaaaaaaaand he's now playing them together off the bench.

SSS beware, but ya it's terrible.

I do wonder what is going on with Wood.

It's clear Hayes stinks but there must be something going on or Ham is just incompetent (could be both)

It's difficult to play Wood as the lone big. Need him next to AD or Hayes, which Ham was able to do previously when Vando and/or Rui were sitting out.

Biggest takeaway I got from this game is that even you wanted to debate the better duo AD/Lebron or Tatum/Brown the talent gap beginning with the 3rd best player on each team (Porzingis vs Reaves) is just so massive that it really would take a near perfect game from LA combined w/ an off game from Boston for the Lakers to come out with a win.

Team needs a serious upgrade in talent to compete against the Celtics... a different coach, starting lineup from this current or backup center from the NBA scrap heap isn't changing that.

Best defensive lineup gives you little offense. Best offensive lineup gives you little defense. Pick any combination of players you want and there's going to be a leak from the offensive or defensive side of the ball. Boston has the ability to play 5 two-way players, game over... not that they can't be beat, because their shot selection can be suspect at times falling in love with the 3. But you have to really hope they settle and aren't hitting em.

I, for one, am stunned that you guys want to get rid of the coach.

Stunned.
Every team's fanbase hates their head coach.

The funniest group is Warrior twitter led by some dude Jim Park that absolutely hates Kerr and believes they won 4 titles DESPITE him

According to Suns twitter Vogel is already on the hot seat as they seem to be losing because of his rotations, lack of adjustments, poor offensive schemes and team's poor defense (sound familiar?)

Celtics fans don't seem to like or believe in Joe Mazzulla...and they're probably the best team in the league.

It goes on and on and on...

You'd think a fanbase would grasp that........

I just want a coach that isn't flagrantly harmful.

Thought we were past that given his showing in the playoffs, but nope.

I think it's just another form of fandom. If you like a player, you only see the positive and ignore or downplay their flaws....and if you dislike a player you do the opposite, same with coaching.

The starting lineup only worked against OKC because AD and Bron went crazy and Austin, DLo and Rui cooked off the bench.... like isn't that pretty much the formula for this team to be successful? (at least against the better teams in the league)

Good result, terrible process.

OKC missed a bunch of open threes on Saturday because of the defensive miscommunication. They easily could've lost on Saturday and the total numbers since the starting lineup change would be even worse.

If this new starting lineup continues to be the most played lineup, it will lead to losses. They were only a +1 on Saturday in a game that AD and Bron went crazy. Ham is putting too much on AD and Bron and then the pressure shifts to the bench because the starting lineup digs themselves in a big hole like tonight.

They can't have 2 non scores in the starting lineup. AR needs to be in there with one of Reddish or Vando go to the bench it's not rocket science, but nipple head can't seem to grasp that. You have a lockdown guy in Vando, funnel paint terror in AD. Bron roaming and Prince is adequate. Maybe Vando isn't in condition right now but that's the way to move forward. Bron-AR, AD-Bron, and AR-AD PnRs also leave for more options on offense.

Exactly. You should have seen what Miami heat fans were saying about Spo while they were struggling during last year's regular season.

Getting rid of Coach Ham would say that there's basically no way to buy goodwill with our fans or front office. Vogel want us a championship, we gave him a terrible roster and fired him a couple of years later. Coach took us to the conference finals in his first year as a head coach and the fan base is ready to fire him after a bad 30 game stretch.

Eventually we won't be able to get any decent head coach in candidate because we will give them the shortest leash in the league. 🤣

Honestly time I'm not even that frustrated. The only reason so many of you guys are frustrated is because you think this team as currently constructed can make a deep run. It's just not going to happen. Roster isn't well constructed enough or deep enough, it doesn't matter who the coach is.
