Well she held the title for 500+ days then dropped it to go to the main roster. It made the rest of the NXT women look like chumps and it stunted the growth of the division for over a year. Then Ember wins just because the title was vacated so she wasn't as over. Shayna is then compared to Asuka just because she was a monster heel.

And on the main roster, WWE does not know how to book a streak. Once they lose it, they give up on the person or book them terribly. If she lost to Ember before hitting the main roster, she wouldn't have been dependent on the streak. That's why it's a good thing that Demon Finn lost to Samoa Joe at TakeOver The End. The Demon still has the aura and it's not entirely dependent on being undefeated

Yes, the passing the torch is very important when it comes to putting folks over.

But I would argue it isn't needed in a Nerdy-universe like the NXT fans. I feel like Ember WAS over, of course she wasn't as over as Asuka or the girls that came before her, but she had already had a following before NXT and fans took to her while in NXT.

At the end of the day, Asuka is an Asian woman. She doesn't have blonde hair, that is all that we need to know as to why she is where she is. So ihust1e is right, that video could have been 10 seconds
