Never could get into LOTR or Harry Potter. I didn't watch those as a kid. Definitely not gonna start now.

Yeah, its pretty much why I don't make a new thread for every tv show I consistently watch. Some of y'all cant hop on every train right away. Not true at all. GOT was out for a few years before a thread was started on here. Plenty of good shows on TV that don't have their own thread. Plus the Lord of the Rings requires attention. GOT is just straightforward get to the point. Man gets his head chopped off for calling someone's kid a bastard. Lord of the Rings has to set the stage etc.
Rings of Power isn't trash, it's a beautiful fantasy world with enough to entertain you. It just doesn't do a great job easing you into the story, like they assume everyone just knows. Can't say I know or care about any of the conflict but I gotta watch the season again without distractions.
Typically, great shows or movies only get a cult following or appreciation much later and become icons. They are not your typical blockbuster magnet but they build up over time and become classics. Some of them were considered flops to begin with. Not true at all. GOT was out for a few years before a thread was started on here. Plenty of good shows on TV that don't have their own thread. It depends cause some are adaptations of books that were great sellers etc. The books help establish that audience for the show. As seen with GOT, Gomorrah, Harry Potter etc.Typically, great shows or movies only get a cult following or appreciation much later and become icons. Gotchu. I stand corrected on that part then. Still believe there are a bunch of under the radar shows that don't got threads.
I think after the stage is fully set, which it appears to be after this season, people will start to gravitate to it.Under the radar is one thing and I don't disagree.
But my only point was that it's a telling sign if you spent a Billion dollars on a tv show, that has one of the biggest fan bases ever, and you have more hourly episodes out than actual pages of discussion. There's only so many times people can say a show looks beautiful before you wonder where the substance is.
But like sneeker says, maybe it'll gain traction later on. Who really knows though?

I think so too. I'd like to believe there will be improvements made all around whenever season 2 releases.I have no doubt Rings of Power will gain steam and eventually be big.
S1 was like a preamble.
Yeah, not to mention better casting for new characters.I think so too. I'd like to believe there will be improvements made all around whenever season 2 releases.
It’s really pissed me offBro, at least Superman for Thor would've been an even trade for Geralt. But getting a backup Helmsworth to replace Cavill feels like it was brokered by the Pawn Stars guy
The first 5 minutes when they are reviewing the rings and wars are more helpful now than I’d ever imagine they’d beWatching the first 15 minutes of the LOTR trilogy again gave me a lot more appreciation for Rings of Power and is enough background to get into the show. It started off a little weak and has some cheesy parts but it came together in the end.
The weird way they shift focus between the speaker and listener in a lot of scenes really pisses me off though.
