Also too many people are willing to make a fool of themselves, risk their life, or show their @** for e-fame. Like almost everybody is doing it so it's almost impossible to stand out.too many people are willing to go broke pretending to be rich... rather than working hard to actually become rich.

She invested 10k to a goal that didn't pan out. 10k is light though. thousands of people go to college for 4 years and collect 40k+ in debt for paperweight degrees only to at best be a receptionist or file clerk at a company.
Renting acutally doesn't sound like a bad idea. $15-$20 of easy money. I'll have like 3 or 3 bred toes on deck or any other hype of shoe DS and have him keep the ones he wants to wear 3-5 days only if he put down returnable security Deposit of like $100 just in case he felt keepping it or not giving giving back, and just repeat the cycle again with another customer.
