FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Packaging natural ketchup in packets is a waste. I need to be able to leave it in all my safe spots and know I can use it in case of emergency years later.

Cooked my version of Cuban Beef Picadillo (Picadillo Alvarez)

Used ground chicken, sweet potatoes and added kale (instead of rice)

Tried this new place out (Sweet Garden in Fremont, CA. Even the name is strange for this type of food lol) They have odd selections that'll make you scratch your head lol (check their yelp to see what they have) so it's not 100% Chinese takeout. I got the garlic noodles, chicken avocado salad and their house crispy chicken (5 pieces) wings with sweet/chili sauce. Large portions enough for two but I didn't eat all day so I was able to devour everything lol

Feel like I'd definitely prefer from grill, but a good version could also be made in oven.
It could be good, not denying that.

But the title of best on the East Coast can't be from some oven baked jerk chicken

How do you know that if you've never jerk chicken cooked in an oven
I have. It doesn't stack up to grill made jerk

 @ jerk chicken in the oven.

so weird.
I am weird for NOT wanting oven baked jerk chicken? Interesting logic

I read that as Zik agreeing with DC regarding the preference of non baked jerk chicken.

Either way, im not caribbean, nor do i know how to properly make it. But i love it. In all its forms.

I read it as Zik thinking I preferred oven baked jerk chicken.

Still have yet to try fried turkey on Thanksgiving. I'm missing out.

Any spots in San Diego worth checking out?

I'll be down there for my wedding anniversary.
