Going off of Adrian's earlier post...I also was wondering about this:

Since the thread is mostly tight knit as mentioned, I wanted to see if there's interest in networking beyond NT and dressing better. A lot of you guys (myself included) are relatively early on in the career stage. I thought it'd be cool to see where we all are at in 5 or 10 years, even though if we are no longer on NT. As I found out in life, in my little years of real world experience, networking is pretty darn important..be it for career or just life advice. I thought about making a new thread about this since it's not really DB related, but I fear the trolls may take over since this is NT afterall.

Btw random thought but how awesome would it be if we get the lot of us on a group video call. Is there a way to organize this many people?

Google+ Hangouts comes to mind for a group video call.

Networking as in LinkedIn? Because I'm on there already if that's what you mean...Maybe we can create a group on there?

I'm not sure yet, it was something that ran thru my mind. A group vid I'm not sure of that. We're going to have like 20+ dudes with 20+ cams going

new standard? are they cut pretty big in the thigh and calf? i play bball and run track so kind of a stocky build...
i find myself having to buy pants/jeans with stretch but eventually they get too big, so it's an odd dilemma.....
so hoping to find a nice ft in selvedge....any less pricey brands?

I have a similar build.

APC NS is your best bet, in terms of space in the legs. PS will definitely be too small and uncomfortable. The denim does stretch a little, I haven't seen much stretch in the waist yet..

What are you guys thoughts on "funky" socks? These are some I picked up over the weekend. Been getting compliments, laughs, and inquiries as to where I got em all day.

Can't go wrong if your pants are the correct length to where if you sit down you can see a bit of em. Girls always compliment me on them.
Sometimes I don't even recognize they're looking at my feet.

Pretty much any shirt, start with maybe light shades of blue, purple, pink, and then move to patterns, gingham and check shirts.  Light brown is very versatile.

I will say that it is a bit weird to me; being a high school teacher, that I could have taught some of you (those in college right now) in high school...4th year teaching.

I like the Happy Socks designs but the quality is crap on a lot of them. There are some thicker higher quality ones but most are flimsy and are done after a few washes.

Nice. I have a mutual friend killing it as an IT specialist for a hedge fund firm, but AMRDEC sounds cool. I wanted to do ballistics and warfare when I was younger, but couldn't handle upper Physics courses.

I highly recommend having a LinkedIn page. I leveraged the site and my extended network to land my last few positions since I left school.

I look to use it again for my next move.
