Brb. Selling my Red Octobers to fund this.

Contrast. Suggestions?

If I go with light purple shirt (stripped), I'm thinking black shoes..

If I go with light blue shirt, dark green tie, red hankie - Darker brown shoes

If I go with pattern white shirt, gold, maybes pink hankie - lighter brown shoes

Can't believe i'm lost at this.
Man. To be honest I don't really put too much thought about this :lol

I also don't use color wheel. It's too much work for me and too many rules.

By contrast I meant the shoes shouldn't be the same hue as the suit so it doesn't look like a blob of brown. I also like how different textures mesh with each other and think it's a good way to break things apart. All of those shoes will do well with the suit.

+1 magic thanks for that

Thanks Wj4! You always come around...

Word up, mike. You the homie. Still gotta visit ATL to link up with you and Jason.

I spend way less time dressing than I did in my matchy sneaker days where even the color of the stitching should match the laces or something silly like that. Lol.

That's probably one of the few rules I follow. If I'm wearing a red striped shirt I would avoid tie and pocket square of similar hue.

If I were to pick, I'd say dark brown shoes or black shoes. I've recently become not fond of walnut colored shoes. I think a brown suit, white shirt, black knit/grenadine tie, black shoes is a great look.

Any suit on campus is formal. Lol. At least when I was in undergrad. I would do it though if you have all the pieces already.
As far as I know I have to wear a suit to this. I was thinking either black or burgundy.

Looking for some ties to wear with both a Navy and Charcoal colored suit. thetiebar.com seems to have a great selection, but I'm horrible at picking colors. Can anyone assist me with a few?

I'm assuming this is for conservative business dress, and that you'll be wearing either white or light blue solid/striped shirts. Sticking to just the tiebar.com these are a few of my suggestions:

Additional 40 percent off at J. Crew again. Picked up this reverse sweater shirt and a dress shirt for work. Came out to be $44 and had $25 gift card.

Guy caught me off guard when he asked me what I'm studying in college when I showed him my ID :lol

I only had a second to reply so I kept it real. Guy just moved from Texas. We chatted for a minute and I left :lol

I thought about saying something like music but he would point me out in a second if that was his realm.

I used my student discount a few weeks ago without eem having my ID. I asked the lady was there any way they could verify my discount through previous purchases and she said "you look like a college student, so we'll give it to you" :lol

I'm trying to build me a new wardrobe, tired of just tees and jeans. Anyone got tips on what I should add, like essentials?
