Pau isn't going to dribble up and shoot, no way. He's a set shot from that distance. Sucks, but that's what it is.
No.
The playoffs start tomorrow or something? Create cohesion and chemistry, for what? November? **** that. The cohesion and chemistry will come, we all get, and understand this. It will come. So I'm sorry, but I don't freaking need to see all 4 of our best players play 35 minutes a night all at the same time. That is ridiculously short sighted. And this is my point.
Brown has zero concept how to approach games.
We never win in Port, right? And this one is second of a back to back, right? And then, we have a 3rd game in 4 nights on Friday, right? He has a copy of the schedule ahead of time, does he not?
Ok, so then you approach the week. Tough to win in Port....hmmmm. Well then, let's go ALL IN against Dallas, get a home win, get a W, I'll even play guys 40 minutes if need be to get THAT game. Then, in Port, nobody plays 30. Punt. Game handed. What I will do, is work on subs, rotations, fits, let the bench kick the tires, basically treat it like a preseason game.
Then, day off Thur, game Friday, try to get to a normal set there, 35 and down for everyone, etc etc. Win lose, no matter by then.
Instead, he got murked by Dallas yet still played too many minutes.
Then played WAY too many minutes in a double digit loss again.
Now will get washed by the Clipps and Vinny freaking Del Negro of all people on Friday, and I suspect with high minutes as he starts pressing trying to get a win to appease us.
He has no plan. Phil did, Pop did, others do. Know when to push, know when to chill. Know your rotations WELL IN ADVANCE, not by the seat of your pants.
Why the **** does Meeks play game 1 but not Ebanks, and then the next night Ebanks is first off the bench and no Meeks til late in the game? In game 2 we see this already? Really?
2008 we went to the finals with Vlad Radmonovic, Luke Walton, Sasha, Farmar, Turiaf, Fisher, with Bynum and Ariza on the bench injured. Does that look like a squad to you? That a deep bench?
No, but Phil knew how to mix and match Pau, Kobe, and LO with the rest of those bums. And he got the most out of them. THAT'S COACHING.
We have 4 elite guys, 1-2 solid rotational types, and a couple meh guys. And Mike can't anything out of them. Again, does our cast of role players look tremendously worse than that 08 squad?
You can take bad players, meh players, and mesh them with your talented guys. Oh, Portland last night, who is on that team worth a damn? 3 nice pieces, LMA, Lilard, Batum, meh Wes and maybe a Hickson. The rest, garbage. Stuffing. Filler. Yet there they were, runnin crisp as could be on offense at least, and trying at least on D, even tho they suck, they don't have the talent, but they got more stops then we did, by far.
2 straight teams with far less talent, both beat us. And a few years ago, when we had less talent, we still made it to th Finals somehow.
There is something to that, and the players can't put themselves in the game. They also know BEFORE the game, when, how, and where they will get in, minus an injury, or a freak 2 quick fouls etc. Meeks, Ebanks, Hill played 9 minutes last night, they don't have any idea when they gonna play, what's their role, who they will play beside, NOTHING. It's minute by minute mix and match, well, let's play this 5, oh ok, here, you go in, no, ok, well, here, you 2, get back in.
Last night I saw Ebanks pulled out of the game. 12 seconds went by, he went back in. I tweeted it too I know some of you saw it as well. That is a coach guessing what he's doing. And by the way, they SAY, Brown is huge on preparation. Ummmmm, I would like a recount on that.
Yes there are ways to stagger the minutes... But at the same time, you're trying to create cohesion and chemistry... Which is tougher if you put them out there for less minutes together..
No.
