Deadspin: Richard Sherman And The Plight Of The Conquering Negro

Maybe just maybe Sherman wants to demoralize an opponent he know he's going to have to play at least twice season. Maybe that's the method to his madness.

The more I think about this topic the more absurd it becomes to me.

Frankly class and sportsmanship get thrown out the window in pro sports because its professional sports.

Why is is there no uproar when teams trade or cut players and they have to find out about it on Sportscenter? That's classless but no one says ****.

Its pro sports the only thing that matters is winning and if you think other wise you are deluding yourself.

Sherman thinks the word thug is synonmous with the N word, but didn't have a problem incorporating it into his Beats commercial for some money though

Y'all dudes really in here talking about sportmanship...

This ain't the YMCA... Cut that **** out, he didn't even say anything that bad

FYI, Erin Andrews LOVED every bit of it!

Sherman is that dude. Period. To say he isnt in the class of Champ, Revis, etc is crap. How can you say he isnt when he is out there proving it?! :lol

He has been targeted somewhere around 50 or so times all year and picked off 8 of them!

Sherman probably said worse things to Crabtree's face!

It;s his first two seasons. Dude hasn't earned a damn thing.

Looks at location, disregards opinion.

Same for anyone else with a 9ers avy

:lol

Obviously coaches and qb's think otherwise. Avoiding his side of the field as much as possible!

How the **** do you know? They don't put microphones in front of 95% players in the league seconds after the game.

There'd be less hand-shaking and more scuffling don't you think. After losing a game, anything can make you lose your composure.

In-game trash-talk, ok. Post-game trash-talk, overboard. For a person to rub a win in the losers face is classless. Nothing to do with ethnicity or any of that BS. I was taught by almost all my coaches to be the better man in the end of the games I played and be respectful whether you win or lose.

So I'm assuming you see Crabtree as classless too, then?

To my knowledge, Crabtree kept all the trash talking in the game until he responded to Sherman's after-game antics. Him responding to it the way he did shows that he gave in to Sherman's insult but, in no way makes him as the same ******* Sherman is.

So you were taught to be the better man at the end of games, yet you condone Crabtree getting physical with Sherm's face after trying to say good game, but Sherm is the bigger a-hole for using only his words? Makes sense.

Sherman only hit Crabtree on the butt and said hell of a game, hell of a game...that's when Crabtree mushed him

I never said I condone what Crab did, if anything, he let Sherman get the best of him. But, I'm sure you remember, Sherman than mad e a choking gesture parading all over the field. You and I both know that an NFL player doesn't do that Postgame, in any circumstances. But, hey, I guess because he's not breaking any official rules lets let him act like a jackass to the losing players after games since he's a Stanford alumnist and a very talented CB. I think I'm done with this discussion because even though it was wrong, it's not important enough to go back and forth about, no one died and no one committed a crime. I just wish players like him represented the NFL in the ways we were taught in Pee Wee to high school sports. A representation of class and good sportsmanship.

Dudes ain't never put pads on but got they panties in a bunch over him calling out ONE guy, ain't like he started cursing up a storm and talked about how the Niners should've never been on the same field. He talked some rather tame trash about a guy who he obviously has a feud with. I've heard worse things from "anonymous sources" about guys on their own team but because he's a big arrogant, intelligent BLACK man this is the most disgusting behavior ever miss me with that ol ********.

We could write essays for hours about why it's a big story-which it isn't.

But the fact remains, that you aren't debating what happened, you are just merely comparing it to worse actions, which is a strawman argument. The fact remains that Richard Sherman's actions were at the worst classless, and at best Corny. That's a fact, and even Sherman knows it - hence why he has apologized.

This isn't about white America being scared of an intelligent black man (which I am sure Sherman is), it's just a perfect example of why Athletes shouldn't be role models.
He didnt apologize because he thought it was corny, that man apologized because this could potentially harm his "BRAND" he is trying to build. If you think his people didnt ask him to do this for damage control, then you are just as mindless as the people on twitter.
Once again I'll let you be in your feelings like Drake over a "RANT"
Take Care...
